Killing bandits considered a crime?

There is something off with the criminal system, my civilian kills keeps going up and I am not attacking civilians. Did you notice the same?

yeah during a task canker i got atacked by 4 bandits along the road and now i have a 7000 gold fine in troskowitz and people call me a murderer for defending myself from bandits.....

btw it could be those bandits were attacking an npc and you killed it by mistake that how it can trigger it . in 24 hours i killed so many bandits on road and never got crime status

No, something is wrong for sure. I so far have killed 3 bandits, robbed their victim and my criminal rating went up. No fines, but guards are constantly warning me to behave.

I killed 2 bandits right now who murdered a civillian in the woods and some passing NPC saw it. Now i have a 2000 gold fine for "Murdering - Bandit". Is it ok? I hope not

I've encountered this with some NPC during fast travel. The archery competition one; the variant with the Poachers and the named NPC claiming to have rights to hunt. Insulting or contradicting the man's claim causes reputation loss. Upon killing them there is zero evidence of their claim to be found at the site. Still, it's considered murder and looting them is robbery. /shrug

So the situation was killing 2 bandits who were about to rob a person on the road, he started running screaming murderer. I think something is off. It seems the best approach is to wait for the bandits to kill the civilian, then kill the bandits and finally loot the 3 bodies. I don't think this is intended.

I killed a group of bandits that camping near the road. A hiredhand walked by and saw that, so he ran away and reported my crime. WTF

Looks like normal EU law, it protects wrongdoers from any good fellow
