Dev´s there is a Memory Leak
Hey there,

first, its a awesome Game and for me, just right now, GotY :lunar2019grinningpig:.

So but there is the same Problem like in Part 1. I think there is a Memory Leak. When i start, Game takes 4,5 - 5 GB GPU Ram but after 2 Hours, the Game eating near 11 GB from my 12 GB GPU Ram and my second Problem is, every few Seconds I have micro stutters, the Frames goes down from 60 to 58 but I think this is an AMD Problem with the Engine.

Its not a Game breaking Issue but its annoys me. Maybe you can fix it or is there a Fix for this ?

Try turning on vsync and limiting to 60 fps

I play allways with 60 FPS and Vsync. I try with lower Settings, FSR , ect nothing work.
vram usage is bad too at 1440p ultra settings i start with 11gb of vram usage after an hour it takes near 17 gb of vram
I noticed something weird happening when you change graphics settings. When I dont touch the settings, game runs smooth. When I change the graphics settings, it slightly lowers the fps, no matter if you improve or lower it. Might have something to do with it

Probably just your RAM going bad. Ran the game for ten hours straight no OOR events for me. The day before I played for 8.5 hours. Stable as apple pie.

Many people are having the same problem, and it's about memory leak.

" If you got an overlay that shows how much vram the game is using, every time you open up the map or any of the other games menu's (except for esc) the vram will increase by around 300mb and only drop around 100mb of those 300mb when you close the menu again.

So after a while you will start hitting the vram limit of your gpu and fps will start dropping.
Only fix is to close the game and open it again. "

This seems to be the most logical explanation about it

I don't have the exact same issue as you but when I play for a couple hours my FPS goes from 90 to 50 then eventually to 30. Restarting puts me back up to 90+ in the exact same location. Possibly the same issue?

mine has never gone above 12. if you have more than 17gb it is probably just allocating it, not actually using it. Which is common.

Do a web search for perfmon program under windows which can show you if a memory leak is occurring, why it's occurring and then you can work out how to plug that leak, if you can at all.

Perfmon is a free Microsoft app included with Windows.
Same issue. About 2 or 3 hours of playing - solid 100+ fps (3070ti, 1080p). After another cutscene or fastravel (at random moments) fps goes to 90-95 in heavy locations (like Kuttenberg). Still playable, but i noticed that gpu uses near 7,8 gb of vram at these moments, which is near cap.

I seem to have found a solution finaly.
The game has an issue clearing out data when the graphics settings change.
Issue is, whenever you enter a conversation/cutscene, the game automaticaly enables extra sharpening and depth of field effects. This counts as graphics settings change, which causes the VRAM leak.
simply create a user.cfg file in the games directory if you dont already have one and have these commands there:

r_DepthOfField=0
r_sharpening 0
r_HDRBloom=0
r_HDRVignetting=0

For the first time since launch I was able to play without the framerate dropping and would love to hear if it helps other people!

is it correct? "r_sharpening 0" and not "r_sharpening=0"?

doesn't matter...does not work.

We need a patch for fixing the prob.
