Issue with the new crime system
So..I tried robbing the first village Troskowitz at night, and it was going fine there's no witnesses and all, no guards. But then when I woke up in the morning suddenly people are yelling at me accusing me of thievery (which I did lol), and there was notification that I was "pegged as thief" even though I was pretty sure no one saw/heard me during that night.

is this a bug or can someone tell me how the new system works exactly? ngl I was pretty disappointed i can't go steal everything like it was in the first game

Yeah it's a little unrealistic. Just leave town for awhile and it goes away. I guess the idea is that a newcomer comes to town and everything goes missing and they just deduce its you.
Huh? I've stolen all kinds of stuff. But yes, people will discover their stuff is missing and put guards on alert and be more alert htemselves. But you can easily fix this by paying an indulgence or doing a pilgramage (which is easy, since you don't actually have to walk and it's just one shrine)
Ah that's interesting, I didn't know paying indulgence can do that, and it's the first time I am hearing about the pilgrimage stuff

That'd be smart if that's indeed the new system. Let's just be safe and say that's how the system works

This was a thing in the first, the point is you're the stranger that just came into town and suddenly a load of stuff has been robbed.... I mean they're peasants but they ain't dumb man.

I never had problems with stealing and robbing in the first game, I never got caught either! perhaps I am just not understanding the current crime system yet idk, or maybe I'll just start roleplaying as honest Henry for once lol

Same exact thing is happening to me. No one sees me, I don't hurt anyone or knock anyone out. I leave town and the next morning I'm pegged as the thief. Very frustrating.
yup, its just how dumb the game is unfortunately
Biggest issue with the crime system so far is - lockpicking got from boring worse to unusable (KDC to KDC2) for the easiest locks I need more than 10 picks now :D in KDC1 there was never an issue with this...

I’m pretty sure it’s by design, I mean it does look hugely suspicious right, who would you expect it to be? It is 1403 after all, humans where quick to pass judgment.

There's an in-game tip that mentions this, it literally says 'People aren't stupid', implying that just because you aren't seen or caught doesn't mean people can't deduce what happened, and limits players from robbing everyone blind with zero repercussions.

Doubt. You're literally found out 9 times out of ten. I've literally gone under cover of darkness, everyone asleep, stolen and left...and then I'm blamed for the crime by magic the next time I'm there. It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ system, that looks cool in action but is apparently mostly a trick to look like something is actually going on. When you're just going to be accused regardless

Stop stealing stuff, God is watching :)
Well in the first game robbing was extremelly OP and unrealistic, I find that here it's very realistic, maybe too much for some people but I like it.
