Artemis Crossbow Bugged?
Hello! I've been trying to use the Artemis Crossbow and it seems like the aiming on it is waaay off. In order to hit anything I have to aim way below which doesn't make any sense to me...you'd think a crossbow would have to be aiming a little higher or right on the money depending on how far you are from the target. It seems very hard to kill any animals even if they're only like, 10 feet in front of you.

ive noticed this same thing
It does look and feel like some content are copy pasted, for instance when you are throwing stones, if you stand on a slope the angle gets messed up so badly that you throw it lopsided, based on the direction you are facing when standing on a slope. On completely flat ground it's straight, but uphill and it's to the right, downhill and it's to the left.

Bows are optimal in a sense to shoot closer to the center where the reticle is, but crossbows are raised higher and the projectile actually arcs upward a bit.

Tweaking the projectile velocity and reducing arc at shorter ranges may fix this.

Since there is a stone throwing animation, I really wonder why there is no throwing weapons in this game still. Throwing knives, throwing axes, even firebombs can be a thing since they existed in medieval ages.
Percussion fire-starting was prevalent in Europe during ancient times, the Middle Ages and the Viking Age.
Like tools made with flint to spark a fire, meaning it's possible for someone to try to utilize firebombs in this manner.

Or better yet, use of chemical weapons like throwing jars of pitch or tar at enemies which they could slip on it if they ran over it, or be covered in it, which made them flammable.

Same experience. Knowing Warhorse, this will not be a design flaw, but is probably based on expert opinion.

I'm actually kind of wondering if my skill wasn't high enough, because with the bows if you don't have high enough strength they fire off right away. Haven't tested them since, but that's because I'm now loving the bow so much XD

I assume it's like a gun that has been sighted at say 50 yards. It's going to shoot high when only aiming at a target 20 yards away. The bow and crossbow both shoot high in the near distances, but drop pretty quick out past medium distances.

All of the crossbow's are terrible to aim with and take a year to reload you better off with the far easier to aim bow....

I agree completely. Once I tried a bow, I never went back to the crossbow.

i love that you can turn a crosshair dot on in the options but when you pull out a ranged weapon it turns the cross hair off to make aiming even worse lol.

and yeah crossbows suck, took 10 tries to get that achievement for killing someone at long range with a crossbow.
