Long story short: Even a proper DS4Windows with HidHide setup will lead to the double input issue, but you can mess around a bit to get it to work! These are the steps, starting from Windows with a proper DS4Windows+HidHide setup.
1) Connect your DS4 controller by Bluetooth. HidHide should hide this controller, and DS4Windows should create an emulated controller.
2) Now open the HidHide Config window, and configure it to ALSO hide the emulated controller (basically, check the box next to the Sony Computer Entertainment controller).
3) Now stop the DS4Windows service by pressing STOP in the lower right corner of the main window.
4) Launch the game
5) Alt-tab and re-enable the DS4Windows service by pressing START again
6) Open the HidHide config window and unhide the emulated controller again
7) Alt-tab back to the game and enjoy your PS4 controller.
I have no idea why this works, but it does on my end.....
