Wolves.
When blocked my guy pushes them away too far so when my riposte happens the wolf is out of range. Swing and miss. Most of the time my guy just swings at human height, as though he's fighting a human. Swing and miss. wtf am I doing wrong? Block, counter, miss. Why is he swinging something waist high or higher when locked onto a ♥♥♥♥♥ dog?

Solved:
basically hit block button then attack button quickly, one after the other, maybe a few milliseconds between the 2. As quick as you can. Both should be pressed BEFORE the wolf attacks, while the green shield popup is on screen. (yes, hit attack BEFORE the wolf attacks and henry will que up the attack, letting it loose immediately after he blocks.) Otherwise he pushes the dog away too far to hit.

Thanks. Yes, it's very un-intuitive. Even if you hit the attack AS the wolf is pressed against my hands while being successfully blocked it fails. I've only had success completing both actions in series while the green shield it up. It's dumb but whatever. Game is great, won't let that spoil it.

Many thanks man for this solution.

That's what is totally missed in all in-game helps and tutors written by devs on fightings.

The MAIN IDEA HERE - almost NO DELAY betwen quickest block and repost pressings ! Just millseconds between them!

And yes, the same as in KCD I the player should be a bit earlier before the shield appear. In many cases, especially at FPS lower than 100 green shield appears too late to react on it.

The player should watch the men shoulder movement, and body movements of the wolves.

Thans, mate!!!!

And one more thing here the length of a weapon. With the short sword Henry strikes above the wolves heads or can't reach them. So just block&riposte almost simultaneosly when it jumps.

Didn't tried the long sword or polearm yet on wolves in KCD II.

You got to be fast, attack as soon as you perfect block and not a second later.

The whole second is the infinity in terms of KCD :) Repost immediately, even the 10th of the second matters!
