Super Long Load Times After 15 hours
15 hours in, and my load times got really slow on my saves. They take a minute or two to load now whereas an older save from a few hours ago loads in seconds.

Appears to be some sort of save bug/corruption that causes the save to take very long to load. It gets to 100% very fast then just sits there for a couple of minutes before finishing.

Anyone else encounter this or know how to fix it? Its slowed things down a lot having such slow loads.

According to the creator of the unlimited saving mod on nexus this might have something to do with NPC AI so it makes sense to me that it happened after traveling to Kuttenberg.

Indeed, if I go back to Trosky, everything works great. However, if I go back to Kuttenberg, everything starts working slowly again.:steambored:

Confirmed this seems to work. It's still quite a bit slower loading in the Kuttenberg map, fresh loads and reloads, but it's a lot faster, like 15 seconds to 45 seconds rather than 2-3 minutes.

Clearly this needs to get patched.

It's caused by bugged NPCs, I had 2 guys standing in place at the edge of a forest not sure where to go, choked them both out and the saves load quickly again.

There are a few cases of Warhorse QA fixing the issue on their Discord server.

It's a known issue and it will be patched, but we don't know when yet.

It's impossible. How did you manage to find them?))

QA guy helped find them for me. It could be possible to find them yourself if you find the latest save that loads quickly and the first one that loads slow, it happened somewhere between those two, so if not that much time passed in between, they'll be in the area. Definitely not easy though.

15 hours? I'd have restarted the computer before I waited an hour even for a game to load. Turn down your game graphic settings. Update your Graphic card drivers.
If you're waiting 15 hours its not the game that's the problem.
So I was playing and my load times was about 2-3 minutes before a cutscene mission but after the cutscene my load times went back to 3 second. not sure if it helps anyone but its managed to fixed mine. It was the cutscene of fixing the cart at semine for the blacksmith.

Confirmed its a game issue/bug.

Fix incoming in upcoming patch. Confirmed it is caused by NPC AI bugging out and NPCs getting stuck and can be fixed in various ways by going to another region or forcing the NPCs to change their behavior (choke, rocks, kill, etc) if you can figure out which ones are the broken ones.

If you get it one way to work around it is to use a speedhack while loading. Since the game is just doing some sort of retry/timeout it speeds it up so if you speedhack x 10 while you load it'll load at normal speed.

I shared my old save with QA on Discord and they found that my Cumans were jammed up on the road somewhere (they never showed up for the quest when I finally got it AFTER the save bugged out). Turns out they fought some bandits or something and then just stayed there. After throwing some rocks near them they snapped out of it and new saves were fine again.

Did they say when to expect the first patch? Not including the day one, we got.

Nope just that they are aware of the issue because of some of us who submitted saves and they're working on a fix.

Same, after 20 hours of game each load take 1 minute.
It's sadly, because i can't imaginate how much time it will take without SSD
Started happening to me in Kuttenberg and now it’s solved for me! As suggested by some great fellow here, traveling to Trosky and then back to Kuttenberg solves it, loading takes seconds now! Thank you lad

89hr's in, started around 80hrs... gonna try the region swapping trick as this is horrible...

PROBLEM SOLVED
1. find your last working save
1.1 check where you are (position)
2. load first long loading save
2.1 check your position
3. if you are familiar whats happen between those two saves, then look where you make a fast travel from A to B
4. check which roads fast travel autopathing takes you from A to B
5. load your latest save (long loading) and make manual travel from A to B and check NPCs around road, there will be some stuck
6. kill it - problem solved and fast loading times are back
