Did you use anything to add HDR to game like RTXHDR or special K? I've been playing with SK for a bit, wonder if that did something...
Edit; f you're also having this issue, pleas make a bug report with Warhorse here: https://to.plaion.com/KCD2Help
No mods, M2 SSD install, 12700k RTX 3080. System handles the game fine, everything else is great, and even the load is weird cause it looks like it finishes at 100% but then just sits there for awhile with little to no CPU/RAM/GPU activity.
Whatever this is the saves are permanently screwed up. I tried all sorts of stuff from copying to trying to rebuild the files themselves. Ultimately I had to go back to an old save and just cheat myself back up to where I was...
Cause is unknown but once it happens your saves are like this forever unless you roll back to an older one (which is ultimately what I did).
The difference is huge, like 10 second load times vs 90 second load times. When its screwed up it just sits there at 100% doing nothing.
The issue seems uncommon but more people are getting it now so hopefully a fix comes around. I would imagine they just need to do something about how the game is trying to load these weird saves.
They can clearly load, so who knows what its doing just sitting there for 60 seconds doing nothing.
It seems thats when the issue hit me loading an old save after the game had a problem and then continuing to play so I highly suggest if your game does anything weird, you close it out completely before continuing.
Nah, that's not it, I have the long load screens and that bug never happened to me.
TBF that's pretty weak reasoning.

It just got resolved for me for some reason. Something strange is definitely happening with the saves. Loaded up every save to see where the problem started. First saves up until after having to find a certain lost person are fast, then the saves take extremely long to load.
Then from reaching the blacksmith in Tachov (save is called Blacksmith's son - Finish forging the hunting sword) the saves are fast again. The save blacksmith's son - Prove yourself to the blacksmith' is the last save that takes long to load. Not sure how to interpret this or what causes the saves in between these moments to load slowly.
Maybe something de-spawned in the world (the bird nests seem extremely buggy with weird physics for example), or it's just that this quest trigger fixed the issue somehow.
I think it's like just a save bloat problem, and once you get to a certain area the second map, or a certain quest the one you explained, the game saves become corrupted in a sense. This happened with the first game, and they had to patch it.
Doubt its bloat I did practically nothing but roam around and not finish quests. I'm way further in and way more bloated now and the problem has not happened to me again. Some folks have done even less than me.
Some folks have said it can fix itself once you actually get out of the region but I loaded an earlier save before I reached that point.
I think the most likely case its the loading system gets "stuck" on something and tries to work its way through it for awhile before timing out or giving up and then the game still works afterwards regardless of whatever was screwed up. Theres little to no cpu/gpu/disk activity when its stuck so its not really doing much of anything for awhile.
According to the creator of the unlimited saving mod on nexus this might have something to do with NPC AI so it makes sense to me that it happened after traveling to Kuttenberg.
Ill have to test this.
