Archery working right?

Using a bow I can't hold it to aim, it just fires instantly. Then randomly I was able to for a few attempts & now it's back to just firing instantly.

They changed it to be hold right click to aim, left click to shoot

That right click to aim worked with the crossbow at the start of the game, not with the longbow at the hunters game. Seems like a a bug.

tbh I think there was an issue affecting my strength that I didn't notice. Just fully rested & can now aim fine. Holding left click was aiming for me. If you right click when aiming it will cancel. But yeah right click is to aim with crossbow. Feels a little weird that it's slightly different but doesn't take long to get used to

I'm not sure yet, it seems to randomly work and not work. I was fully rested when it didn't work. I saw other posts from people having the same random issue.

I have different issues. like the guy taking forever to put the bow away or pull it out.....for some reason outside of combat.

OR you are defenceless and INSTANTLY dead if you get caught in combat with someone and you have a bow/crossbow in hand.

P.s. you literally get animation locked and slashed to death instantly. You CANT do anything about it, but to press "ESC and load". WHO CAME UP WITH THIS SH1Z?

I had the same. I do think it was because of a bug with the perks to lower strength and Agility for weapons by 2. Even though I had the proper characteristics and no debuff, it still shot the bow immediately. Now restarted a previous safe without the perks and have not had an issue so far.

Hope this gets fixed or explained soon.

You just have to sheath your weapon :)
It happens with all weapons in some situations.
Just use the skill bar button quickly when they start mumbling about it.

I dont think you understand....

Scenario;

I shoot someone with a field crossbow..

He sets off an alarm.....

He runs towards me full speed, cause he a regular dude....bandit.

I press a button "2" to put away ranged, the same time the guy already engaged me in combat with lock on cam AND is already full swinging his club at me, causing animation lock on me to pull the axe out. Its like im controlling the NPC bandit, when i press "1" he attacks me with full combo. Animation locked until death. (feels like the mouse and keyboard died on me)

You cant block, you cant run away, you cant attack ..... only with ranged weapons. Insta dead at that point.

Literally the ONLY thing that pissed me off about this game..... i personally in real life would bash the teeth out of that bandit with my big ass crossbow before pulling out my axe.

p.s. if you enter combat with sheathed weapons, you go unarmed vs armed. You can switch and run away. That works fine.

Change the bow,some shoot without holding it

Bow: Hold left click to draw and aim. Release left click to shoot.

Crossbow: Hold right click to reload and aim, left click to shoot

You might have a mouse hardware problem with ghost clicking if it fires before this. Try a (new) different mouse.
