Help with takedowns
Takedowns are needlessly difficult and clunky. Any tips? I choke when the sword prompts appears but the perfect parry lasts less than a second. Am I doing something wrong or is it really that difficult?

I suppose so, but at the moment the shield that appears urging me to perfect block stays on the screen for at most 0.4 seconds. So I cannot finish the training quest at the mill.

Same here, tried like 30 times it just impossible.. This is ♥♥♥♥♥..
Had a lot of trouble at the mill with Gretel keep freezing and not responding after takedowns and pickpocketing, even accusing me of stealing etc..

Anyway I'm on PS5 and I ended up just pumping the trigger R2 and it works best for me. I press L2 to initiate the takedown and then just pump away on the next key R2 on PS5.. Then just pump away on L2 (block) after the takedown blue icon flashes.

Works for the takedown but not the block

As if I'm playing Track and Field

Having high strength should help according to ingame info, but no idea if the frame to knockout gets longer.
The trick to doing takedowns is to ignore the onscreen "shield" prompt. By the time it is visible, it's already too late to hit it. Do the crossed swords "parry" prompt, and then wait until you see the enemy beneath you shift like he's bringing his shoulder forward so he can elbow you, then thats when you hit block. If you timed it correctly, you'll choke them out, no matter what your strength or stealth scores are.

Thank you! This worked like a charm!

I attempted the takedown 15-20 times with no success. I read this, followed the instructions, and got it on the first try. Thank you very much!

The initial tutorial is ridiculously stingy . afterwards it's not so bad.

Seriously though, wtf. was that? They put you in a situation where you have to absolutely perfect the timing, 2 times, and that's the tutorial?

Afterwards in the actual game it's like dadoo dadooo I'll kill you from behind. teabag you and make fun of how I drag you out of sight, it's.... kinda dumb
