Slow start
How satisfied are you with the very slow pace of the game (at least in the initial area)? And I don't mean the tutorials and the recollections of the first title, but the section afterwards.

Henry is stripped of all the gear and money. Henry is stripped of all the levels and skills... And you just have to regain it all again... I must say I'm slightly disappointed. The same guy who once won tournaments and fought knights now gets beaten by the first petty bandit and must re-learn everything. Duh.

And don't let me started about the lack of food and shelter in the beginning. I stay at the blacksmith, eat in the evening, go to sleep, I'm hungry again but the pot is depleted so I have to venture into the wild hungry, listening to Henry ranting, being weakened. Duh. No free places to rest or eat, can't hunt, can't buy ♥♥♥♥, can't nothing.

And yes, I can understand this is meant to be hardcore and life-like, but this pacing immediately sets the replayability of the game to 0 for me.

Or do I just suck or miss something? What do you think?

I feel about the same, sure if I could import my KCD 1 Henry into 2 it would be uber boring, but at least option to do so would be nice and give a feel of continuation of same character
Obviously some people won't like it but to me it's perfectly fine. The reasoning behind him being weaker makes sense. And hes is clearly waaay better off than he was at the beginning of the previous game. Everything here just seems dressed up better. This game feels much faster paced to me in the beginning as well. The opening hours were fantastic. I'm only about 4 hours in and seem to be pretty well kitted but I'm going to be spending the next couple of hours doing blacksmithing stuff.

That being said, you aren't wrong if you don't like the game. Sometimes a game clicks and sometimes it doesn't. That's the neat thing about opinions, right?

Well I'm sure I actually WILL like the game, or what it has to offer later, it's just I've already built a knight from poor Henry in the first game and I expected to push his career further, not being kicked in the dirt a starting all over again.

How did you manage to get pretty well kitted after just 4 hours?

Well you are set back but you aren't starting over. Henry is waaay more competent even after his injury than the Henry at the beginning of KCD1. You already know a lot of your swordsman basics as well as archery. The only thing you are really missing is armor and weapons to feel healthier. Just journeying to the town near the herbalism lady I found treasure and weapons/armor on the way.

Sure, some of them had bandits around them but if you pick and choose your fights then you can get some really good starting gear from the bandits. Plenty of hidden caches you can find. The game is also pretty generous with notifying you if you have come up on something hidden. I had a pop up saying that I just found a "nest" full of extra gear about 30 yards out from the point.
