Why can't i talk to anyone?
I'm in the first village you are placed in and have searched all of it.

Aside from intro lady Bara there is no-one who will talk. I have found four people willing to trade but even them i cannot actually have a conversation with, it just goes into the trade ui.

What's going on here, the whole game can't be like this right?

It depends. Sometimes events need to happen for you to be able to talk to people. Talk to Bailiff of Troskovitz. Ask him what's up.

People won't talk to you because of your reputation, assuming you are right after fight where you ended up in pillory with Hans Capon.

Don't worry, people later will greet you, and even talk with you, but the NPCs don't always have dialogue to offer.

Bailiff is in the building behind the inn, I think, similar entrance. Sometimes he sits in front of the building. He may offer you some dialogue, but what I've personally done is go back to Bozhena and talk with her. That may or may not trigger a quest.

Focus on makin money and making Saviour Schnapps. Seriously, treat yourself to some good clothes, find an armor and find Mutt. If you follow story of Mutt (the green quest), you will end up with quite a lot of interesting NPCs and quite fun quests.

To find ingridients, find Nettle around the Troskovitz, then go north of the town until you see a forest clearing and a wooden structure that sits abandoned between the trees. Around that wooden structure (A-Frame house), you will be able to find Belladonna to make Saviour Schnapps.

Go to your inventory and use "Saviour Schnapps Recipe" to learn it.

Do not fight. Avoid fighting yet. Lady Bara should direct you to Tomcat too, he will teach you fighting, but until then, AVOID bandits.

That's normal. If you are in the store in Troskovitz, the man speaks german. Characters will sometimes speak their native language and it won't be translated. That's normal, its realistic.

Nah the way it's done in the game it's immersion breaking..

cos once he says the german lines he goes back to his great english...instead of a broken one like a normal person would talk.

it's just not done organic and it comes off fake. but ok it is what it is.
