How to remove a bounty

I have a bounty early on because I stole a lute and the carpenters father saw me. How do I remove my bounty?

No one saw me commit a crime or witness it, still got a bounty. Makes no sense and I've waited days and it won't go away on it's own.

Pay for indulgences at a "Toll Kiosk" outside the jail.

There is a secret "option" to pay off bounty, but it takes a long "optional" questline that was not include originally due to "budget constraints."

When undertaking this quest to clear your bounty, make sure Henry of wherever your from, has the strongest leg guards possible because knee pads help a lot when paying off bounty that way.

It goes away after awhile, had the same thing happen. Just run other quests outside of town for a few days to a week
