And now having in game punishment system, where you can get branded with hot iron as criminal and in the end getting hanged is pretty wild :D
I've been able to steal, although it's after I bludgeon them to death in a secluded location.
Yeah I heard you can do that but I find that extreme, kinda unfun (roleplaywise) that to be a succesful thief you also need to become a murderer.
Long answer: Yes, but it's tricky and not like most stealth games. If you're expecting it to be like stereotypical stealth games, you'll find it frustrating. Once you get a rhythm for how this game handles stealth and notoriety, it'll become much easier (though still tricky).
Maybe a bug? In KCD1 if people were asleep you could rob their houses and pickpocket them for keys, etc.
I want to believe this is the case, as I'm going to new towns I've never been to and people are still saying I have stolen or murdered. The system is ♥♥♥♥, but looks cool when you see it in action when it WORKS
Yes.
The Miller explains to you how.
For example by wearing darkish light clothing, only a dagger and so on.
Related, I can even go to new towns I've never even been to and STILL get told I did something there lmao
