Combos still nearly impossible?
I've hundreds of hours in KCD1. Enjoyed it. Also enjoyed the fighting. But I have never been able to pull off a combo attack. Even during training with Bernard I just flailed the sword around until I accidently made a combo.

I should add that I play on PC. I've heard it's easier with a controller.

I'm now having the same problem. During my training with Tomcat it took me 15 minutes to get a correct combo. The first strike is always correct, the second mostly, the third almost never.

Anyone having more luck?

Uh, the Tomcat training I did first try. Maybe it's a timing issue?
Combos were imposible only on Hardcore in KCD1, Hardcore for KCD2 would be released in spring. So we don't know actually.
I'm finding it harder to block attacks in KCD2 now. They remapped block to RMC and idk why but it works intermittently. Combos are easier now, you use only left mouse to attack
Regarding combos in KCD1:

its a stamina issue.

In KCD making combos is useless when the enemy still has stamina, because they're gonna block and disrupt the combo. So you gotta get their stamina down before attempting it.

Its a bit weird, but its how it is.

I've only played on HC and they were definitely doable. Like I said above, its all about stamina.

Same stuff, I hate that strike maping, hope it could be fixed with mods.

Respect, bro, me too) And no, they were not doable in normal conditions. The only way to make combos In HC in KCD was to lock FPS on 30 - in that case, enemies wouldn't block any 3rd strike. But that is basically cheating.

Weirdly enough i have now in KDC2 no issues blocking, it fact i find it now so easy compared to KDC where i hard such hard time blocking, i avoided combat as much as possible.
But i do have way harder time now indeed of managing my stamina, and have to withdraw to a distance more after each block/attack to catch my/henry's breath.
Admittingly first few hours of KDC i had issues well with blocking still, suddenly it clicked with me, and keep blocking nearly every attack and even getting a lot of perfect blocks, and only in a few hours so it might get worse again with better opponents.

I have to say the swordplay feels terrible but maybe we'll get used to it. The tutorial bugged out for me too

I've been doing combos constantly tho.
As you're saying yourself: the issue is enemies blocking.
Simple solution: get their stamina down.

I had simpler solution - strike two times in the head with Ceremonial mace and perk Headcracker, and zero combos would be needed after *devil's face, smiling* After all - maces were more common weapoon for soldiers in Medieval Europe IRL, so it's even more realistic way to play)

There's no problems with the block itself. I just don't like the one thrust direction, with random targets, and keyboards maping in general - I like more Q for block and RMB to stab. Maybe I've just became conservative after my 32nd birthday)

You could do combos in hardcore. Wasn't that hard.
Combos are a lot easier than in the first game.
