Lack of any AutoSave is rough, played for 4.5 hours, just lost 2.5.
I thought it saved when you slept. I guess not always. Events, there are plenty of places where an autosave would have been nice, but its too damn strict.

The even more annoying part is that i died to a basic bandit because it wouldn't switch from my bow to sword.

You didn't sleep for 2.5 hours of play time? Nor take the potion the girl gave you in the woods?
Game auto saves at specific events, but it is up to you (As it was in the first game.) to control your saves through Schnapps, sleep and quit/saving.
not every bed lets you save

the bed will either say "Sleep" or "Sleep and Save"

In general, only beds you have permission to sleep in will save.

Game of the Year bruh. Somehow a bad implementation will be defended by fans though, always happens :steamhappy:

Game is released in 2025 with 0 expected QoL, and people go 'it's a feature' or 'you don't know how to play' instead of admitting it's bad design.

Just wow, gamers these days will accept ANYTHING as gold just because they are desperate to play something and praise it.
i crafted already like over 11 snapps i hold so saves no issue if u care to craft

You can quit and restart. Not complicated.

They accept it because the game was designed (As was the first.) as an immersive experience. Save scumming, is not immersive, BUT if you want to do that, you can mod in the save anywhere system, which lets you F5 your way to any victory.

Yeah, i need to do that. I read sleeping saves, i slept several times. Just not in a fancy save spot i guess.

Git gud

Playing KCD1 would have prevented this misunderstanding.

Okay, I haven't played KCD2, but if it works like KCD, then to save through sleeping:
- The bed must say "Sleep and Save" not just "Sleep".
- You must complete the sleep as you set it. If you set to sleep 6 hours, you must sleep full six hours, and it saves at the end. If it gets interrupted by you or someone waking you, it won't save.

You have to get good at saving? This game sounds like it sucks

The unlimited save mod is up on nexusmods if that's your thing. With it you can just hit F5 to save whenever you want.

Yeah, im fine with the potion saving... i just didnt realize it rarely did autosave. Really sucks to lose half my progress already.

What are you talking about, "Lack of any AutoSaves"? This game has auto saves, you're just not able to adjust how often it "autosaves".
