It gave the people who will buy it what they want. That is why the clowns are having heart attacks.

Just a lot of people with too much time on their hands. It's basically transvestites vs chuds or something like that. 2 sides of the same coin.
I started the prologue and it seems fine so far. If I encounter anything that makes me cringe I'll slaughter and rob it. I'll cleanse all of Bohemia from modern day political issues (which I haven't seen yet)

the first game is in a historically accurate setting based on a religion war, one where a Christian boy from Skalitz is constantly battling the urge to become what he is fighting.

KCD2 decided to add in hypothetical could have been content, a change in writing making it a game about two men who are fighting the urge to love eachother more than friends all while fighting in a religion war.

Devs promised backers and buyers of KCD1 and authentic experience, they took that money and franchised it out to a marketing team that cares nothing about anything other than how to get an easy $.

KCD1>KCD2 in every way.
I'm also guessing you haven't actually played the original and if you did, you completely misunderstood the game. It was not a religious war. It was the historic dynastic war between two men of the same dynasty, vying for the crown of Bohemia. Sure there is the sub plot of the fracture of the Catholic church which was being played out across Europe at the time and would lead to the Protestant reformation. But honestly, I feel like you have missed the point.
my boy the Muslims, Christians, and Catholics were all at war...
People just want a politically free game, politics has seeped into everything. We don't have to offend people to make this statement, but I think in general the player should decide what happens in the game. If his gay affair is optional, then that is fine. I don't care.

Once upon a time there was a mid eurojank game with horrible combat and some game design decisions straight out of 2002. It was called KCD, and it would be doomed to share the fate of something like ELEX 2, if it wasn't for two things:

1) it was made by the guy behind renowned Mafia games
2) it was very openly anti-DEI in the day and age when not being DEI was mauvais tone and would get you cancelled

KCD was not just a game, it was a statement. It was a community for people alienated to DEI to flock towards. The contribution of KCD towards fighting forced diversity was as much as that of Stellar Blade towards fighting uglification of women in videogames. So this pandering, no matter how small, is seen as a betrayal. It devastated the carefully built image of KCD and reputation of Vavra with it. And, again, the game is nothing without those. Another eurojank which unironically demands an item of you to be able to save in 2025.

The studio might as well shut down after this one, because we've entered the brave new world where people are so sick and tired of DEI that even the slightest nod towards its values is met with powerful backlash.

If you don't realize how bad this is, let me explain. This days, Steam has an amazing feature that lets you filter out games by certain tag. And tags are applied by us gamers. I blacklisted "LGBTQ+" and boom - all those ESG money games are now invisible to me. I have to go out of my way to find them. Now, how many other people blacklisted the tag? How many will do so by 2030?

Everything about these homophobes is pretty pathetic

well, its simple, lying about content in game:
doing a 180 while pretending it's natural and not at all influenced by anything, like, say, a 1 billion buyout of the former owner of the studio, by saudis. and if saudis are known for one thing, its buying things to do nothing with them afterwards, especially to get attention or spread propaganda.

Imagine if they made Geralt gay in the Witcher 2 after fu,cking dozens of women in the first game. Thats what they did with Hans in this game. I hope you understand now.
Bisexual is a thing that exists you know. Perhaps Hans is pansexual. He can be whatever the creators want him to be.

bisexual exists, yes, pansexual doesn't, that would be pathological.

Are you really that traumatized by LGBTQ+ that you had to blacklist it? That fear and avoidance is more than a little childish. The same crowd that celebrates masculinity cries and hides from a little gay that has nothing to do with you?

as one should be able to chose sexuality, one should also be able to freely chose to avoid whatever tf they want... Freedom of choice's the matter at hand, when you condemn anyone for a choice they made that doesn't harm others, than you are proxying bigotry, and pushing hegemony, while also contradicting the LGBTQ+ movement primary ideals...
