Hardcore janky game, how did this recieve 9?

I have always wondered how this game received 9 despite being janky as just entering 2000s, and so did Stalker 2? I realized that this game is rated high only because it has majority white cast, and nothing else. This is like culture war rating, not authentic rating. I complained about jankiness about stalker 2, and I got banned as "Russian propaganda"

This game has like 1998 design, even Morrowind or Oblivion plays well, but this game doesn't. Right form the beginning the game starts you clipping. When you want to take down an enemy, it is convoluted. The dice game presentation is horrible.

American developers are the best. This game will die down in just thousands just like stalker 2. There is no hatred for this game because of its white cast, just like STALKER 2. However, polished game like Veilguard got hate because it has some black people in it, but I don't care about the story just gameplay.

Honestly, the first one was kinda Janky in a sense, and still is a bit, but if youre struggling to run this game with an i9 and 3070, then you have something messed up on your end. Especially if you struggled on the first game.

I had a 2070 and a nearly 10 year old i5 8600k processor, and i only ran into the occasional bug in the first one. Closest issue i've had playing KCD2 is one load screen fail, where it just stayed in the load screen for a while.

Maybe you should check your drivers, see if you have any malware, or double check that you have the specs youre saying, because it has nothing to do with the game in what you've stated.

For the game's graphics and level of detail, what do you expect people use to run it? A 5090 Astral?

Game is simply poorly optimised and it shows. Combat is delayed (and it doesn't seem intentional, seems like waiting on a decision tree to process), clipping, bad lighting, ghosting, etc.

Oh but they made the colors supersaturated to hide all that. Wow.

The AI is also some of the worst imaginable in a 2025 game. Could have just kept the NPCs silent and there wouldn't be anything missed.

How can such a game, that apparently is more primative than Oblivion (a 2006 game) demand so much power?

The answer is developer incompetence.

I'm running it on s 2060 super, with a much worse processor than OP, And it runs sweet asf, no clipping, great lighting, no shadow issues or ghosting, No delay on combat, npc's conversations and arguments are hilarious.

At least play the game before you chat ♥♥♥♥

Unless the term has changed recently- janky always meant the game was rough around the edges. Alpha Protocol is janky. Eastern-European RPGs are usually janky. Many indie games are janky. Opposite of janky would be super-polished, like Nioh’s combat. Or titanfall.
A game can be janky and run fine or janky and run like trash. Oh- 7 days to die is janky. That’s a good example…. modding fixes some of that though.
Fighting a zombie with a stone axe in 7d2d would be the best modern jank I can think of today.
