Combat Training I - Combo 2 - with Tomcat just not working for me - please help
I've tried keyboard and mouse; I've tried it with controller. It just isn't working. It is supposed to be Up, Right, Left - and either I do it and all he says is "...why didn't you finish?" ...or "...wrong direction" This is even when I am making sure I AM going the right direction. What am I doing wrong? I honestly didn't have a problem in KCD 1 so I'm uber frustrated... AND you lose rep if you quit out - which I did a couple times already. What the heck.. Thanks!

I think the Devs just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up, it either doesn't work or completes after 2 strikes.
same here, just going to move on for now.

It seems like he's expecting a 4th move but the horizontal combo only calls for three and the game won't allow a 4th action anyway. top, right, left is all it calls for but when I do that he either says why did you pause or why didn't you follow through. Meanwhile I'm clicking like crazy and nothing happens after the 3rd move until its ready to start over.

Welp I'm glad it wasn't just me.

Thinking about it, if he blocks any of the steps that may be why its not being successful. I'm so focused on the star I'm not really able to pay attention to where he's holding his sword all the time.

I ran into the same issue, I'm not sure if it just fixed itself but I found you have to be pretty quick with each attack. Before the previous attack has finished you need to have already changed directions and be ready to strike again immediately.

If you are having issues with this quest. I'd say try to slowly increase the speed at which you input the next attack and see if that helps.
Game breaking bug. Combat is already clunky at best in this game and this is a deal breaker for me.

This is a bit*c I’m stuck at one combo completed & I’m leveling up like crazy but it doesn’t seem to make sense what I did right … just grinding away. There do seem to be little tricks and differences showing up in my swordplay as I keep at it but this has been going on for like 30+ minutes.. I think there is a bug in the system I’m hitting up right left but I’m starting to see two right hits in the combo. That’s not been the case for the whole training match but I think the prompt is pushing the auto aim to move in the wrong direction. Like if you just attack without aiming it switches from left to right and back again, that “aid” may be what’s causing the problem. I got a combo in 30 minutes ago and can’t get a repeat no matter how many different ways I come at this. Slow, fast, aggressive, passive, mixing in other combos .. maybe it’s just me or my computer but I’m having a hard time squaring this circle. Idk I even got a left swing by using left pad to finish off the combo, about to give up and see if adding in my levels will do anything. About to be so pissed off if I lose the 1/2 I have and can’t replicate it after giving up and starting over but I’ve been at this for 45 mins.

I had no issue doing it and I did it twice because I had to reload an earlier save. Had no issues doing his combo vs normal enemies later either.

Combos can only be interrupted by perfect blocks, dodges or master strike. He's not supposed to be doing any of that. Normal blocks don't interrupt combos. You can tell a perfect block from a normal block by the animation.

This works for me, you just have to do it quickly.
For me, I think the game didn't "learn" the second combo initially. So I did the 3 attacks but it didn't do the combo finisher.

Pausing the game and resuming fixed this, then the combat help screen showed up and the combo worked!

holy, was sitting there for two hours, and after cheking this page i started clicking my mouse like crazy and it worked.. wtf?
My Henry pauses after the first two strikes, no matter which combo I'm trying to do, I am trying to follow through and I could mash the mouse button for attack all day, he still won't strike until he pauses for long enough to get Tomcat to complain I didn't follow through. I played the 1st game and ended quite good with swordsmanship but now I feel like a complete beginner. Is this a bug or am I really so stupid I'm missing something?
