Guys, calm the hell down. This controversy over an OPTION in a ROLE PLAYING game is being so overblown it's crazy. This isn't a 'woke' game. I hate woke crap as much as the next guy, but having small options for the player, OPTIONS, isn't woke. It's not like he's running around with a rainbow pride flag. This is a historical role playing game. Guess what history had? Gay people. They weren't allowed to be out like they are now, but they still existed. They just had to hide it. That doesn't mean they didn't exist or that they didn't get physical with each other. There are nobles in history who were thought to probably be gay. Not in a revisionist way, but from CONTEMPORARY sources at the time. Sometimes rumors like that were spread to try to affect opinion of the person. Sometimes they were spread because they were probably true. That was just the nobility. Sometimes even royalty.

And that's just the nobles and royalty because we know very little about the normal lives of peasants at the time. People who wrote history didn't often give a crap about peasants, or the lives of every day people. So we will probably never know 100% what the normal folk would think. They almost certainly wouldn't like it. The people, if found out, would be shunned or seen as sinners/impure. Which is probably why the people who were gay were really good at hiding it and sneaking around. Just like they did throughout a lot of our history, including up until somewhat recently. Hell, people are still in the closet these days and you'd never know. They still go around banging.

So just calm the hell down with the woke stuff. This isn't Veilguard with someone spouting pronouns and preaching to the audience. They aren't pushing some agenda. They're giving people a tiny option in a game filled with options. This game treats women like ♥♥♥♥, treats a lot of people like ♥♥♥♥. In the previous game you could blackmail a guy when you found out he was gay. So stop pretending like this is some woke game. There's no wokeness, this isn't go woke go broke. This is people over reacting to something that's bog standard in role playing games since the dawn of time. OPTIONS.
