Game Settings - Subtitle Display Options - Contrasting Subtitles set to No.

well there is no way in turning black subtitle bars off when using widescreen weems like. BUT, the mod that turning off letterboxing in 16:9 also removes these bars, so works flawless for ultrawide as well as the remover of subtuitle background
