i'm playing on a rtx 4070. maxed out (ultra preset) at 1440p with dlss quality it runs super smooth with 60fps+ without dropping below. mostly its more like 80fps but i'm locking it to 60.
i've played the entire beginning etc. and its well optimized, especially considering its the cryengine. no stuttering, buttersmooth framepacing.
on your rtx 3080 you'll maybe have to set dlss to balanced, but believe me if i tell you that dlss balanced is identical to quality in terms of visual fidelity. i couln't believe it myself but in motion its literally identical. i took screenshot comparisons and on screenshots the difference is minimal. its very hard to see the differences (i assume its that good because the game has forced smaa 2tx instead of the usual taa which unreal engine games always have...)
the combination definitely makes the game beautiful so there's no shame in setting dlss to balanced. i've never seen a game in my life before where the differences between dlss quality AND balanced were that little (as mentioned not noticable in motion and only very slightly noticable on screenshots).
i've an old nvidia driver though. i haven't updated for nearly a year because usually updating the nvidia driver leads to having more problems and games running worse (as seen by the posts of others here).. with my old but perfect nvidia driver (sometimes an nvidia driver is exceptionally good. the 555.99 was like that back in summer 24 and so far i haven't had a single problem in any game despite playing literally all new games) it runs flawlessly
I have 3080 and it loaded up on ultra settings but the game is broken. Runs with smooth 59-60 fps but I can't talk to any npc now after sleeping in some lady's bed. She caught me and then Henry laughed at her and now I can't talk to anyone even in earlier saves. I'd wait...
32Gb ram
rtx 3080
No problem, 4k ultra, dlss quality - 60-90fps
intel 12900 kf
32 gb ram
4k, High settings, runs like at about 100 fps
People are getting banned for no good reason. You should stop celebrating this.
So i think you will do fine on a 3080 also :)
