There was a workaround for KCD, IIRC...
for the KCD alphas there was a workaround. A separate binding software. in final version it worked how it should.
Hmm now in KCD2 same issue. Seems there's a hidden RightMouse setting that blocks forward
Except FORWARD MOVEMENT. (doubled action warning, saving impossible).
Obviously RMB is hardcoded somewhere.
Cannot play without it.
I have a feeling it was a default setting for a 3D AMIGA game?
It's an honest question.
You do A LOT of forward walking in games like this, right?
So your left hand covers a big portion of your keyboard blocking essential keys and is kept busy and glued to W key by doing so A LOT. I don't like that.
While, at the same time your right middle finger is on your right mouse button hovering and wasting a lot of time time.
So why not using your right middle finger for such a dull and continous action.
Basically, FW on right mouse button frees up your left hand for quick actions and your right hand is on your mouse all the time anyway.
Makes sense to me since 1992 or even earlier since Atari ST times.
It's hardwired in my brain and a messy key binding script kills the fun for me.
I don't want to have to think about what buttons to push when things get funky.
I returned KCD because of that, will repurchase, when it's fixed.
Heh, interesting, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the matter.
It's a fascinating thing how humans can get used to very different things, like having inverted mouse look as well.
Though I am one of the evil contrarians, I hope the issue get's fixed, that really should not be a reason for exclusion and rebinding action should be doable according to any wishes in a professionally made game.
Exactly. Wolfenstein, Spear of destiny, Doom 1, Duke Nukem 3D, Terminator Rampage, Rise of the triads...
Messing up RMB seems to be a thing nowadays.
Even in STALKER2 the had the RMB hardwired to "throw bolts" and it couldn't be remapped. Hasn't been fixed since...
Finished the game with clumsy workarounds.
Not willing to do that again. Spoils everything for me.
Returned KCD and it was refunded.
Yes, it's that big of a deal.
Right mouse button is your blocking button
That's really helpful. Are you in IT?
