Ultrawide FOV
Just loaded up the game, playing at 5120 x 1440 and the FOV slider is only horizontal. Increasing to the max helps but is still pretty unplayable. Anyone have a console command to change vertical FOV or make horizontal go further?

Ultrawide support is not that easy in all games buddy. The space marine 2 devs promised ultrawide support one patch, i jumped on and it did not work at all, I went from playing space marine 2 to dwarf marine 2 instead.

Give them time to fix it, and seems to be some other fixes for it, and they will probably solve it in a more user friendly way tbh. Refunding it sounds kinda stupid, UNLESS u actually dont enjoy it. Ofc in the end its up to you, but i wouldnt.
Problem is it is not even possible to switch it to 16:9 resolution. If I do, it doesn't add pillarboxes, like in other games, and it will instead stretch 16:9 picture to 21:9. Why?

Agreed! I would be happy with a lower aspect ratio and black bars. Hopefully they add this soon.

Got the same problem. It´s zoomed in like in spacemarine 2...
Having ultrawide monitors feels so punishing.

PLEASE FIX THIS

RTX 4080 SUPER
i9-11900K
typing "cl_fov y" on console (~) fixed the zoom in for me on 32:9.

I found the same, however i tried setting the FOV in settings to 75, save and then applied cl_fov y (y not a number) and i think i have the verticle space and its not that fish eyed in centre of screen

I'll try this when I get a chance.

Thanks

Can confirm that this is not a good fix to the problem.

Top and bottom on the image is still cropped and anything on the sides of the screen is stretched.

The cl_fov console command overrides and disables the horizontal fov setting in the graphics menu and sets fov using vertical fov. Because 32:9 is basically double 16:9, a setting of 110 for vertical fov is much too high even if 110 for horizontal fov was too zoomed in.

To get rid of the fishbowl effect on 32:9 try a cl_fov setting between 50 and 65, depending on personal preference . For me "cl_fov 57" was the sweetspot.

TLDR If you play at 32:9 aspect ratio try opening the console with ~ and copy paste "cl_fov 57"

Havent gotten the game since currently im on a cpu bottlneck on my 4070. Got same res as you. But not sure if i can handle the game, is it cpu intensive?

CPU: I5-9600k 3.7ghz
GPU: RTX 4070

3440x1440p
130-160 fps depending on area with DLSS Quality. Used Special K to change Quality to higher resolution. 75% instead of 66.

DLAA runs at 90-110 fps

FOV 100 with cl_fov between 180-200 seems good. Not even sure it goes that high, but it seems to work.

PSA: If you add "cl_fov 80" to the bottom of the user.cfg file in the games directory, it will apply the console command when the game launches and you'll never have to type it again.

For someone who lives under a rock would it be possible to get a better explanation on this fix?
