Not sure how they slighted Catholics? The game depicts the church mostly accurately.
If anything they downplayed some of the churches darker sides. That's probably just because there are no children in the game though.

I just can't really wrap my head around their choices. Why spend so many years taking principled positions that make you more popular, only to then abandon them and mock and antagonize your fans for rightfully feeling betrayed. It's such a bizarre thing to do. Especially when they've recently acknowledged just how bad these PR crashouts can be. Why immediately follow that up with a little PR nightmare of your own?

The game is going to sell well regardless, it is otherwise too good not to, but I definitely think the last few weeks have cost them a decent amount of profit. Not to mention the fact they've burned a lot of good will, and will likely never get it back.

I don't mind at all in a game like Cyberpunk, for example. The context for it here is totally different though.

It bothers me that they've explicitly stated many times that they will not be including these things. They've said Henry isn't gay, and that you're playing Henry, not as yourself. Vavra also said that a black person in 1400s Bohemia would be absurd, which is correct. They took flak for this, but stood firmly on their decisions. Now we've got a complete reversal. The fans that once defended them are being mocked by them because they've inexplicably changed their minds. They've offered no explanation for their change of heart, only derision.

Why do you people keep saying the bs over and over again? The "optional" gay romance retcons the sexuality of 2 main characters and the black guy's existence is completely contrived and his storyline is peak woke. Actually listen to what people instead of strawmaning them for the love of God ...

Couldn't care less. It's a game at the end of the day, people were gay back then, the Romans another 1400 years before were having gay sex parties in the open and nothing was wrong like it isn't now. The consequences of the 14th century will also exist so I see it as a method of historical explanation for the codex.

If some homosexuality is what pushes you away from this game, given our modern societies I'd say you've got a pretty big stick up your rear.
