Lets have an honest discussion here.
How many of you have played the first game and actually finished it? Just curious.

Secondly, what is even considered a "woke" game now in this new age of identity politics? Aren't options a part of a game? So just having an option which you can completely ignore makes a game "woke" now? I think there are a lot of mentally ill people in this world, and I hope one day they get the help they need to work through their inner issues.

I also think a lot of these people don't even play the games they criticize. They form their opinions based on media narratives instead of actual experience. All the best choice-based RPGs have had options regarding sexuality, and they've existed for, what, the past 20 years?

Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3, Skyrim, The Witcher 2 and 3 (even though the main character's sexuality is predetermined, there are LGBTQ+ characters in the game), Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077 all of these had such elements. I'm not talking about linear characters without dialogue choice options, which I know some people will bring up. Those games have predefined stories and responses crafted entirely by the developers.

I'm tired of politics forcing its way into everything, even hobbies that people use as an escape. It’s getting ridiculous. Some are even comparing this game to Dragon Age: Veilguard, which is insane. That game actually shoved identity politics down your throat i played it and hated it.

Meanwhile, the biggest so-called "woke" flaw in this game is that you can have a gay relationship and meet a Black merchant from Mali. No over the top monologues about not being understood, no forced non-binary representation (looking at you, Dragon Age), no sudden culture-war detours (again, Dragon Age). Just all choices rooted in a medieval setting.

I've got 1500hrs in KCD, mostly in HC. I've even made mods for it on Nexus and written quest guides on Steam. It's my favorite game next to Cyberpunk, CK3, and RDR2.

That said, I don't care about one ahistorical black guy and I don't care about possible gay romance. Only caveat is that if Hans turns out to be romanceable, I'll be disappointed as it feels like there are so few modern representations of strong male platonic friendships in media.
I bought KCD1 three times , completed normal mode on ps4, hardcore on xbox1x, and hardcore all negative perks on pc

You don’t have to ♥♥♥♥ him… you can just have that platonic friendship. You just don’t like that you’re going to have to fight that urge. You need a therapist bro

It's because you are a reasonable person, and i get the Hans thing. Even though no one really truly knows if this is a fact yet.
175 hours in KCD. The fact is though most never reach 20, then many others never reach 50 hours. It is a slog of a game, you have to love it to make through. The weird problems like not being able to get over a small rock is annoying, pathing problems, jumping problems and all that. KCD2 will be no different they couldn't fix those probably in KCD nor will they fix it in this one. The more honest reviewer put it best, if you loved the first one you will love this one but nothing changed but combat being overhauled. All the same slog and hard to get to the core of the game exist still.

Why you needed to bring up sexuality I don't know. Just more baiting.

I played KCD1 back at launch and I beat the game then. I didn't 100% every single quest but I did the majority of them. I will be playing KCD2 As soon as the game unlocks on steam its already installed.

Hmm I have read different reviews also. Most reviews I have read said it improved in every aspect over the first game.

That is because most of them are dishonest like they always are. I don't listen to any of those reviews 100/100 serious that is a review? No it is not, because I already know the Cryengine has not changed that much and I watched the guys with 50 to 60 hours in teh game on Youtube and all the problems that existed in KCD are still there with the engine. Plus the cut scene animations are trash and cartoonish looking.

But the big thing is this is a niche game, very much so. If you don't have patience then this will not be the game for that person.

Did you play the first game? and if so did you enjoy it? If not why do you care about number 2?
