recommended 4070 is absolutely brutal
That was sad to read, and depending on what they mean by that, the game could even not run well (above 60fps all the time) while maxed out at 1080p on this card. Different developers place the recommended category very differently from each other. Sometimes recommended equals smooth as butter, sometimes it means running acceptably.

Although there are reasons to belive this kind of game belong to the outlier category of uncommonly demanding games, like Read Dead 2 or Cyberpunk, it is a bit unsettling to see this since series 5000 are not even completely out of the oven yet.

EDIT: and on top of all that, the cherry on top, recommended 7800x3d... RIP

No it's not. Hope that you don't get stutters with a bottleneck.

So what cpu do you recommend?
7800X3D or 9800X3D

I'm running a 5800X3D + 4070 Ti with a 1440p display so probably gonna have to run a mix of low and medium settings and just accept i'll be stuttering.
Nowadays it does makes a lot of sense to buy and play on consoles, they are more powerful than in the past and they cost the price of a good GPU on its own.
all of the games are well optimized to run on them.
Otherwise if you want to play on PC you need to get out from your wallet the same price you will pay to buy 4 or 5 consoles.
They have an experimental graphic setting just like crysis had. It´s for futur hardware. Not even the 5090 will be enough for native .

People with 8 year old machines will play this just fine if they are 1080p

Also take into account, that all recommendations are without DLSS on.

They are actually the recommended for 1440p on High with no upscaler. But close enough, most people don't play in 4k, and the majority of people are still on 1080p. So it's odd that they did that with no explanation under the specs.

There are many that play 1440p. (I´ve played 1440p for a decade) even more so in big AAA PC gaming and even AA+ like this.

Its true that the avarage PC gamer that play Roblox, Fortnight, CS2, etc.. are on 1080p ofc.
Even if we look at overall resolutions on steam, you will notice that 1440p have 20.06% and 1080p have 56%

So the difference is not as large as many might think. Again these numbers will be closer on large titles like this.

On a side note: the 5090 is one of the biggest scam released in 2025.

Ooof yeah. Like i said previously, he should go 9xxx series AMD or wait 15th Intel gen to see when upgrading. I have a recent 14900 Intel and i'm fine with it. Many people are not unfortunately coz of all microcode business.

FSR works nicely for GTX cards or equivalent for a lot of games.

It works for all cards.
In my opinion its not as good as DLSS on many points, but its still great for older cards and AMD cards-

That's what i meant, the point was about when DLSS wasnt possible.
it says 4070 but 3080 owners we already know whats up. hehe

If your CPU has 6 cores 12 threads and newer than 2017, you're probably going to be fine with 95% of the games out there including this one. GPU is heavily reliant on the resolution you're playing at. Even if have something weaker than a 4070, you can just set DLSS to a more performant mode and you can play "1440p" ~60fps just fine.

Now the image quality degradation that comes with DLSS is completely subjective and depends on the individual.

No it's not. Hope that you don't get stutters with a bottleneck.

Unless you are talking about "not the greatest" in the literal sense, 7700 and 7700x are awesome CPU's for games.

Did we forget about the 200-series already? Cuz Nova Lake is going to be 16th gen next year or so. Or 300/400-series. Still prefer the old generation naming schema.

This.

Absolutely this, and 5080 an even bigger scam. To the point where I just regret purchasing a 4070 super. Other than DLSS update for previous gen, Nvidia seems up to no good, unfortunately,
One reality check for OP. Whole Industry ♥♥♥♥ you, ♥♥♥♥ your hardware, ♥♥♥♥ your crying, ♥♥♥♥ your whole life, accept it.
