Anyone else love the first game, but never finish it?
Loved the first game and played it a few times, even completing most of the DLC's, but kept hitting a wall late game and losing interest. Really looking forward to jumping into the new game, but wondering if anyone else had a similar experience with the first one?

Maybe just play it when you feel like it? The ending is great. Very satisfying to complete. I lost complete interest, like you I hit a wall. I came back to it after constantly trying to finish a bugged quest. So I gave in and ignored that quest. Finished the game and Bob's your Uncle I was riding off into the sunset with Hans and the boys.

Thats something that happens for a lot of games I play, but not this one...finished it yesterday.

Did you have the Hans love quest? I found it fun and a great way to end the game.

Hopefully I get back to it some day. Doubt I'll do it before trying out the second one though as I'm itching to play it. This January/February is way too hectic for great new releases. KCDII, Avowed, Civ, Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy at the end of January..... Wish they would spread it out better.

The first two plays yes but I think that was because the game was new and buggy.

I do remember hitting some bugs when it first came out. Think I had to run around a church or something searching for clues and couldn't get the game to progress.

I'd go back just to get wasted with the priest that one night though. Hilarious.
Hahaha! I'm in that category! I absolutely love the early game when there is so much to do and that the inquiry into Neuhof massacre is so mysterious and exciting, but I tend to lose interest in the late game where you start to be seriously poweful and that the main quests kind of slowdown. I have over 1100 hours in game and yet, I haven't finished it yet. I will probably try to finish the game soon though because I'm kind of close of the ending and although I've spoiled myself, I haven't seen the ending yet.
This was me, I only finished the game on the third attempt.
With each playthrough I achieved near max level, and each time I dropped the game before entering the monastery. I only came back to finish my last savegame because of the impending release date of KCD2.

I don't hold it against the game, though. I have an aversion to completing main quests and KCD was maybe a little too good at letting me do what I want.

Too bad I'm not going to be playing the sequel now.

Got as far as getting reinforcements from Talmberg for the raid. Probably watch a recap video.

I finished it twice..at the second run i just ignore at last the quest from my fun maker buddys of the first Village so they dont end...what they normal end ..and just running around in the rebuild village (was really dissapointing that i cant convert them to work as trader or something instead of end criminal)

I recently, due to the pending release of KCD2, thought to myself "Yknow, I am bad at finishing games. I often get close to the end but then something comes over me and it's almost like I don't want to finish the game because I know I may never play it again after, so I move on to another game to only do the same thing." I took the plunge and started a Hardcore play through with the intention of bringing the narrative to fin.

I was not disappointed in the slightest. Finished it the other night and I am more than ready to see where this next instalment brings our boy Henry. 400 hours later I can put KCD1 behind me even though I didn't finish every single quest (some DLC) in the game, I can look back on it and know that I gave it my all.
