Do I have to play a murderer?

I've seen plenty of videos of KCD2 where Henry is cruel and kills people for the sake of killing.

I wanted to be a pacifist, trying not to kill anyone or at least keep it to a minimum and only if really necessary, like defending my life under attack.

But it seems Henry is a murderer at heart, so I'm afraid I can't play this game, I can't just play as someone that can murder people. I feel deceived, because I thought the protagonist was supposed to be a good guy. Warhorse Studios should remove that option, to kill without just cause. Punishment is not enough.

I'm playing Henry as a good boy.
Yes, I will kill in self-defense but that's legal in the Bible and the Quran (I have not read the Torah). As far as I know, other than self-defense, you are not forced into killing, and in some cases enemies surrender or flee (at least on occasion) when they attack you so you can spare their pathetic lives.

To murder is to kill without justification. So yes you can play the entire game without murdering anyone. Even in sneaking missions you can knock people out they wake up in a day or in a guard or other villager comes by they can wake them up immediately.
