Most fans seem to be going gold and those gifted standard are refunding then buying gold. It seems to be the popular buy.
Everything is simple. If you want to support the developers, buy the gold version, if you just want to play, you can buy the regular one. If you know that you will only play once, take the regular one. If you don't care when to play and you want to maximize your enjoyment, I advise you to wait a while as content will be added to the game. Because of this, I played the first part three times because not everything was immediately available.
I'd say the big decider is if you are going to play it more than once, I am. Play it on release as a normal playthrough. Then wait for the DLC to drop then play it again whilst looking at a few YT videos to find all the content I missed.
I only go for gold on games that make good DLC that extends the main game and are games I love.
Order neither.
On the surface, considering the bonus content provided, I think the Gold edition is worth the extra $20. That said, a lot will hinge on the quality of the DLCs. If they turn out to be insubstantial, this will seem like a bad purchase in hindsight.
