How much of my play time can I expect to be fighting?

Lets assume I am looking for fights with "bad guys" who would also be armed and dangerous. How much of my time am I going to be in combat? Like 50% of the time? maybe only 10% of the time?

I know the game is not out yet but just your best guess or based off your experience from the first game.

The story and side quest are 80-100 hours total. So story fights would be like 3-6 hours depending on your playstyle. Fights along the road or just provoking random armed NPCs outside of the storyline are depending only on your approach. You can talk your way out of them, but also you can engage with everyone. So assuming you want to fight everyone who cross your way, the total would be around 15-17 hours. So together possibly around 15-20 hours of story and "side" fight from start to end in one save. You can also fight indefinetly after you finish the game if that´s your thing. So realisticaly anywhere from 0.5% to 20% of the playthroug could be fights, if you really want to fight everyone. But I don´t recommend it, since unlike the first game, the punishment for multiple murders of "innocent" people in short time will lead in something more than a 10 day prison sentence.

This is not Skyrim, mind you. You wont find enemies behind every corner.

It’ll be more akin to Stalker. If you want fights then you can find them.

This is not Skyrim, mind you. You wont find enemies behind every corner.

My friend, I wish I could be more specific, but I can not. I am sure you have played the first game, so you know it takes part in the middle of a civil war. There are bandits and farmers who want to rob you behind every second bush and on many of the crossroads. Ther eare even scripted encounters in certain locations, like in the first game. When you have low level and skill these fights againts 3 bandits or 7 farmers can take 5-10 minutes each. And if you purposefuly instigate a fight in every village, camp, ruins and other areas, you can easily be looking at 15 hours of fighting. But yes, not like skyrim, the enemies are much more in realistic locations and better spread across the maps

Will the guards chase me down and take me to the gallows? That is kind of awesome if so. Just train Henry till he is a killing man in his killing prime then go around drinking and fighting till someone brings him down.

Guards will chase you down and even if you get away, they'll remember you if you return.

When playing the first game recently, I killed everyone I could in Uzhitz, aside from some essential NPCs, and the next day, after travelling away and back, the entire place was entirely repopulated with all of the same faces. Bit disappointed TBH.

I don't know. At least 20% maybe as much as 50% but I could deal with it being as low as 10%. If it was less than 10% I would be disappointed.
