So really no one will know for a few more days. Just grab some popcorn and enjoy the show imo.
Also, who cares about Saudi Arabia? Their laws are very strict. Mass Effect and Dragon Age origins are banned there too. So what
But what I hear from content creators is that it takes a deliberate path of quest and dialog choices of multiple degrees in order to trigger the gay Henry scene
So what? So what? Why are those games banned lol? Look angry boi, they asked if henry was gay or not, I told em the truth as reported, don't need to smear blessed Saudi Arabia.
And yeah, if they turned out to ban those games for their gay sex, then yeah, it probably applies here.
I love your good faith argument. In fact so much so, I'm going to block you!
Just gonna sip some malt liqour and listen to this banger, remembering the good days
https://youtu.be/9LAK1eEIxnw
They'll behead you on a copy of KCD 2
Also, malt Liquor? If you shooting to kill yourself before the Saudis do at least pick a proper poison.
Live is nothing without risk Inshallah.
It's been done a fair few times already. The reason why they don't generally do it is that it doesn't sell. There are series like "Cho Aniki" in Japan that have strong male homosexual themes, but as a general rule they appeal to such a niche audience that there is little point. It should be noted that the second game in the "Phantasmagoria" series called "A Puzzle Of The Flesh" has you playing a character who is quite probably supposed to be struggling with their homosexuality going by the dialogue of their shrink.
The basic issue is that 95% of the population are entirely straight. Of the remaining 5% you've basically got 1% gay, 1% lesbian, 2% bi, and 1% everything else like trans, aesexual, and "delusion from Reddit someone convinces themselves is true" type stuff. This has been pretty unchanging throughout history as the freedom to come out now was counterbalanced previously by the ability to hunt people like that down aggressively. It only goes beyond the basic 5% when political efforts are made to make it look larger or smaller.
At any rate when you have a gay guy as a protag or major character your entire audience is tiny compared to going for something more normal. Now it has been pointed out that since women react differently to other women, and guys at least like the idea of two hot girls going at it, highly presentable lesbians can be an acceptable "safe" way of doing things as you can tap enough of an audience to sell a niche product.
At any rate during the 1990s they tried a lot of this stuff, people forget that comic series like "The Authority" were hugely popular and had two gay male characters in key roles. That said that worked mostly due to an ensemble team, attempts to just flat out sell gay super heroes in solo books and such didn't work out too well. This applies to video games and movies, and that is why it was pretty obvious what was going to happen when they tried that "Bros" movie. You can get people to be tolerant, but you can't get the majority of people to find it entertaining or appealing when they aren't wired that way, which means as a business movie it's always going to fail.
It's not brave, it's just dumb. That said simply having a gay option for the hero doesn't really mean much, tons of games have had such things going back to the 1990s. Heck in "Origins" people used to laugh due to how easy it was to wind up in a gay sex scene with Zevran just by being nice to him. If these stories are true at least KCD2 has the common sense to make it so something so niche is not easy to trigger by accident.
The developers most likely, under the coercion of investors, made Henry a variant of a homosexual relationship. They also added a black character from Mali. If you want, you can follow this link, it has a more structured narrative.
