Yeah probably, this is basically part 2 of a trilogy.
Though, I did watch Empire Strikes Back before any other SW movies, and I loved it.

Also KCD is a total banger if you are into sim games. I personally loved my life as Henry for the month it consumed me. If you aren't the patient or heavy RP type then yeah just watch the video. I really don't think you should go into this completely blind.

100% i would recon playing 1st one . it is going to cont story . i think you should . it took me 92 hours to finish my run with all DLC but i explore whole map and did most of quests

The first part is great, I recommend going to the first part first. By turning on the Czech voice acting, you will get maximum enjoyment from the game.

You don't need to. I believe it would enhance part 2 more if you did.

But the game has flashbacks in the prologue and there are story summaries you can catch on YouTube

The first game is really worth playing, but you have to accept that at the beginning of the game you are nobody and can't fight at all. But the whole point is that you get better with the character and it's super-satisfying. And the story and the quests are awesome. Especially the one with father Godwin. That quest alone is already worth it lol

No, the franchise was wokified and it's now dead. No point investing time in it if it has no future. First one was historically accurate with an established protagonist whereas
the sequel is historical revisionism with retconned lore.

No. KCD1 is recapped pretty well at the start of KCD2, but KCD1 is worth playing through on its own with all that being said.

If you want to play a game made with heart soul and passion, a work of art made without any compromise on the vision, play the first game and leave it there. As an analogy, think of this game as Disney Star Wars and KCD1 as Lucas' Star Wars.

You should for various reasons, including the story however if you have not done so anyway you can buy the game later and enjoy a sale as well.

Need ? No, it is recapped so you will know the story so far. There is also recap of KCD1 story on Warhorse YT.
But its never the same. LIke they tell you those two guys are friends. In KCD1 you get to experience this friendship come to be.
