KCD2 Reviews - Any Indications of the Sentiment?
Reviews for KCD2 aren't in yet, but I have watched a lot of preview content, both from YouTubers and from other outlets.

So far things are looking optimistic, but does anyone have any good guesses as to how KCD2 will do upon review?

If I recall the first game did pretty well but was buggy at launch and that dinged it a bit.

I'm most interested in terms of overall performance, gameplay, and optimization

It's gay and diverse now so journalists will like it.

Overwhelmingly positive by those who have played it, and overwhelmingly negative by those who haven't.

Performance rated good, bugs minimal, with a slight chance of homosexuality,

I'm interested in particular as well about how it's being perceived in European publications versus North American - sometimes you see a divide there

I really down think it will be an issue. There were gay people in 1403 and we shouldn't get out of shape because it's in there are long as it sticks to the realism people like it for. Witcher 3 had it in the tutorial area and it was well written and applied to the time they were aiming for. Especially in the 1400s it would be a topic of taboo and mixed opinions. I think it's fine if it's in and the end of kcd it felt in place and not dramatic at all
It will automatically get high scores from mainstream publications because it has a token black character and they turned the player character gay.
If the MSM now give KCD2 top scores while they scolded KCD1 for a lack of diversity, we know for sure why the changes happened.
Anything you will see, including "official reviews" are unreliable, you should wait a week or so before playing to make sure.

I pretty much only trust Mack from WAB (worth a buy?) , been following the guy for more than a decade I don't always agree with him but one thing I've learned is he is always sticking to his old-gamer sentiment which I respect. He thinks this is an amazing RPG and fans of the first one will love it :)

10/10 Return to form!
No one is allowed to give a score to the game yet due to NDA's - but almost everyone who has a preview is gushing about the game.
Even people who did not get on well with KCD1 - like italianspartacus.

Skill up is a fan - and whilst I dont agree with everything he says, and he is not a huge RPG guy he always has a solid take.

No, he bent the knee and now supports this type of practice and bans anyone trying to challenge him. There were even devs on his live stream. Pretty much bought out reviewer, either with money or with other privileges. Shame really.

depends on who's opinion you hold in higher regards. content creators by & large are singing this games praises from the rooftops. Games "journalists" will likely be far more critical but these are the same people who will write full reviews for games where they can't even get past the tutorial for, so in my opinion their reviews hold about as much weight as a newborn baby. Personally I just want to play the game & no amount of whingy reviews are going to stop me.

What practice? Care to give an example of where he was untruthful about a game or are you just a conspiracy nut-job thinking Mack was paid to accept DEI practices?

Because firstly, compared to you all, he actually got to play the game so right off the bat his take is actually valid and not based on presumptions.
Secondly, based on how people "challenge" judging solely on how some people behave on this forum, excuse me, 90% of you deserve insta-ban for life, from the internet itself.

:-)
