Forcing DEI into a historical sim of Christian Bohemia. WILD.
Retconning characters is generally annoying in and of itself when you can just make a new character, but Kingdom Come is the last title I expected to suffer from the modern forced Reddit virus, especially since its a historical title, and Henry or any other character would have literally been burned at the stake, historically...

Wild. I even repurchased the game on Steam to get hyped and its such a bummer to find this out. I used to not care about this sorta thing, but I know now that not caring is part of the problem.

Shame on Warhorse Studios and shame on Steam too for banning anyone who doesn't bend over for it. Instant boycott.

You are wrong.

You are imagining things and then getting mad about the stuff you made up.

This defense is dismissive though, because it doesn't address the underlying issue of character consistency or the perceived agenda behind the change. I used to say the same things, but its just getting annoying at this point.

I am not the delusional one here. The entire game is based in Christian Bohemia, with christian referenced ads, and the entire thing touted for historical accuracy. Henry is son to a renowned and devoted blacksmith. Terrible decisions from Warhorse.

That doesn't make it a "Christian game", Bohemia is just the backdrop where the religion happens to be majority Christian.

If you want a romanticized Christian game try the following:

Yeah, so when the religious institute gets portrayed accurately as they do archaic things like prosecute gay people and torture and/or kill non-Christians that would be a historically accurate nod to how things were like in the middle ages, they're not exactly preaching gospel and portraying Christianity to be strictly good, Henry himself can disagree with Christianity and sin quite a bit (since this is a RPG).

I understand that if you're a fundamentalist the above actually sound like good things and feel betrayed knowing now that it wasn't meant to propaganda for the church, but that's hardly Warhorse's fault.

And? It still doesn't make the game a sim or "Christian", it's just a RPG more detail to authenticity than the next medieval game.

This from someone who at the time he wrote his review of KCD had logged a whopping 14 hours in the game, and doesn't seem to have done much more since then. And he doesn't even seem to have ever killed Runt.

Hard to take someone seriously who's put in less than five hundred hours into the original.

I also bought the game in other stores in epic and steam. In epic, I have the main game time. If you think there's only steam, you're weird.
Not gonna lie, you guys are going to need to provide in-game evidence of DEI. Just having the option to make a gay character and that there is a token black person in the game is not evidence. You should be more upset that you can't make a hot female character. Cause I am.

Its a "historically accurate" title first and foremost. I'm not upset there aren't a bunch of Witcher fantasy women in Kingdom Come, because those type of women are not real, especially hundreds of years ago.

Boycott! Looks at what DEI gets other games - trash!

You really just sound upset that the game is based in prominently catholic territory, influencing almost every aspect of the title, making it a historical christian RPG. Its pitiful how far you are reaching + baiting, to try and justify your niche, off-putting fantasies, by gas lighting others into forced DEI content in basically the only RPG we purchased and praised for historical accuracy. It has nothing to do with being religious.

Uh, doesn't matter it still reveals itself. I went into BG3 blind after playing Divinity and the gay vampire fantasy was unbelievably forced... We don't want it.

I like KCD because it is an approximation of a medieval setting because that's not what a lot of games tackle, but I also understand that the setting isn't bearing a message for gamers which is what you're doing by conflating it to be a Christian game.

It would be upsetting if the game went "Christianity good", but that never happened, it confronted people with what Christianity was like and it wasn't pretty at times which is something I appreciated, especially with a character like Henry who thankfully had enough player agency to let the player disagree with the faith despite the setting (here's fingers crossed to him becoming atheist during KCD2).

You're the one reaching, first you said it was advertised as a sim (never happened) and as a Christian game which also never happened; Vavra literally just told you it wasn't and any Christian who deluded themselves into thinking the game was "made for them" are having a similar reaction to people watching The Boys and finding out the show was never on their side, "Wow I can't believe they betrayed us!" maybe if you people had some media literacy this wouldn't be a big revelation for you guys.

Then stop calling it a Christian game if it has nothing to do with religion, it's just the setting.

The setting is medieval Bohemia, not Christianity lol. Christianity was basically everything else. The entire game is based around Catholicism. Attire, ways of life, dialogue, etc. That qualifies the game to be tagged as Christian the same way its tagged as historical... The same way its tagged as "LGBT" right now for having that content. I'm sorry that upsets you seemingly more than I am for the game being woke lol... Which is a bit odd tbh. You must really want to fantasize Hans and his, uh, fecal waste hole, without anyone saying how odd that is for a time period that burned anyone at the stake for sodomy?

Retconning the title, but also feeding the Redditors all in one, is exactly why I have to boycott the game.

I am doing zero reaching.
Happy to see folks with Disco Elysium names/profile pics in these threads. They're the only people who talk sense.
