Map Size and Scale: KCD vs KCD 2
So I’ve been playing a lot of KCD 1 in preparation for KCD 2 and am really loving it all except for one relatively minor complaint: the map feels too small to me. I generally don’t use fast travel much in any games but still traveling from town to town in “real time” in KCD doesn’t take as long as I feel like it should.

I want to feel like, for example, that if I’m deep in the woods that I’m far from the safety of the town and a long way from home in the wilderness. But you can sort of just gallop at speed in any direction and you’ll exit the woods in no time.

So what do we know about map size in KCD2? I imagine it should be bigger and I certainly hope it is. I also would like if the scale is adjusted (if that’s the right way to say it) so that it takes longer to traverse any given part of the map, if you understand what I’m saying.

TL,DR: What’s the word from the previewers on KCD 2’s map size (and perhaps map scale)?

From my understanding, KCD2 has two maps: Trotsky map is slightly smaller than KCD, Kuttenburg map is slightly larger than KCD. So altogether KCD2 is roughly 2x bigger than KCD, map wise.

I don’t understand what this means. How are there two maps? Can you please expand upon what you are saying please?

Trosky Castle is the 'centerpiece' of one map, with surrounding castles and villages.
Kuttenburg City is the 'centerpiece' of the other map, with surrounding castles and villages.

I hope there is no loading screen between those two maps and that you can return to previous map at any time

There is a loading screen and you can travel between the 2 maps at will once the story takes you to the second map for the first time.

Also, reviewers mentioned that for example, the forests are a little bit more dense in regards to wildlife. I hope that it will not be too much though, I would hate if there were wild animals at every corner like in every other game...

The areas are like 70kms from each other, there has to be a loading screen. Who would want to ride on Pebbles for hours in between them on Hardcore mode :D

Wait a minute, some gamers would :D

I never ever use the stupid 'fast travel' in any playthrough.
Bought a fast horse (Pegasus) with the best 'tack', and know exactly when to leave Ushitz or Skalitz in the morning to be in time for the Rattay Tournament of that day!
All is ready for the first round. Welcome our warriors!

I did not have this dilemma, as hardcore is the only way how to really play the KCD :D
but yes, yes. Warhorse Jenda (for his story, mostly), did the necessary "fast travel" :)
