click button to not be gay. -ok
ez.
worked well in PF kingmaker & wrath, etc.

worst case scenario: install a mod that will be banned on the nexus.
no problem.

warhorse doing a 180° on henry being an actual character and not the player insert is the real issue, but i prefer being able to click the gay away when the game comes with a f__kton more funding and thus is on a completely different scale.
obviously warhorse (and mr. vavra) needs to up their PR game and remove the community crew that responds with snarky comments to customer-questions. pretty sad that this escalated this much, even tho 95% obviously being a psy-op from salty drag queen failguarders, but that doesnt change the fact that warhorse did a bad job at defusing it.

depending on how good (or not) KCD2 is, i will re-evaluate their trustworthyness for their next game.
assuming that KCD2 is KCD1 but overall better, bigger, same or better writing and with no modern politics preaching, i wont cancel my preorder.

doing a 180° on henry being "the player", plus the snarky PR comment still gives a full strike.

on the black guy situation:
i would have to do to research where exactly this npc is supposedly from and how he supposedly came to central europe.
anyway, islam was pushed out of spain in 1492, thus during kcd2 this character would have easy access to southern spain and the culturally diverse (no in the modern sense) italy. so it´s possible and as long as it´s 1 guy and not every 3rd nameless npc, that´s fine by me. also i dont mind learning a thing or two about the mali empire in my late medieval game.
about this "our women get treated better"-line... from the perspective of the character this seems true. it would be funny if the character would say "yes, we treat our women like s__t", but this is not this kind of rpg.
one could make a comparison to the treatment of women in the current year by certain faiths, but one doesnt want to get banned (again).
thus, this character existing isnt a big deal, assuming it is properly written & interactable (not in a gay sense). not being disappointed by warhorse so far (minus the PR), i think this assumption is fair.
on the actual diversity (again, not in a modern brainvirus sense): i´m happy that my country germoney is well represented as far as i´ve seen. still going to play in english, just to make those german npcs stand out even more. good stuff.

zero to a half strike in my books, depending on how well this character is handled.

on the code of conduct:
the worst offense possible, but from what i´ve seen this was made by some brainvirus infected HR person and was swiftly removed.
this simply signals that those people need to be removed from the industry, deep silver knows this and acted quickly.

it being posted in the first plays is pretty much 3 strikes for me, but being able to read the room and getting that s__t out the door immediatly reduces it to 1 strike. sadly it still is rare to see companies walk so fast on this worthless virtue signaling. anyway, it is important to be aware that warhorse has connections to companies that obviously are infected (or may be infected itself as well (tho i havent seen anything that indicates that (actually quite the opposite))).

so that´s 2 - 2.5 strikes, thus i wont cancel my PC collectors edition pre-order import from amazon uk to germoney for 240€.
if anything comes up that adds additional strikes, i still have 30 days to sent it back or (more likely) to resell it for a nice profit.
if actualy modern brainvirus things come up, i´ll simply get it for a nice discount in a couple of months. KCD1 was so excellent in my books, getting more of it would be nice and mods can fix a lot of problems.

obviously more strikes will also mean a way harsher look at warhorses next product, but so far they deep in the green for me.

I do believe there is a good chance we will get a mod to fix it, true.
But I do not pay for wokeness. Therefore whether the game is later playable with mods or not, I wont support the devs with money for it either way.

"dEfInE wOkEnEsS"

just a joke.

i get your perspective.
it is a cancer and some collateral damage is acceptable to remove it, but as an individual, i VERY much enjoyed KCD1 and i wont mod-able things stand in the way of me having a good time. if everything is canceled when there´s only a slight hint of wokeness, then the brainvirus people - whose stated goal is to ruin everything for everyone - have won and no sane person wants that.
also - as said- this very much looks like a drag queen failguard psy-op to me, thus giving it a couple of weeks to receive spoiler free trustworthy analysis is the winning move.

at the end of the day, there is no 100/100 perfect game for every single person. the only question is whether or not you´re willing pay the asking price, which might be significantly lower when only getting a cd key and/or waiting.

looking at kcd1s stats, it simply takes a couple of years in a very saturated market for the price to drop below half a decent burger. so that´s a good deal when talking about 100+++ hours of quality gaming time.

anyway, i´m back to jagged alliance 1. 1996 was such a good year :cozybethesda:
if someone has a link to a mod like this, send me the link please...and no, not that ♥♥♥♥ from Nexus Mod, I knew it was a fake from the start because a mod like that couldn't be in Woxus Mokes

165h in, barely started the main mission on map 2 (but completed pretty much all available sidequests)
i dont mind the gay romance option.
however the black bartosch gay sex option is just about as bad as it can get. the only to upgrade its slapped-on awfulness is if the guy would berate the player for not choosing it (failguard style).
modding those (obviously) investor-demand late additions out would be important. that said, since i´ve seen it, even modding it out would crash immersion.

so yeah, after having played it, it´s actually FAR worse than turning down some gay pathfinder (to stick with the example) character (but not as bad as failguard (tough s...-stain to beat tho)).

something-something of mali... only did the first speech options and the "tour". absolutely awful writing, so it´s not that simple to just change the skin color. to fix this one would´ve to replace all dialog + voicelines.
no idea how this would affect the mainquest - but it doesnt matter - kill-ability should´ve been there. instead this (so far competely ignorable side-npc) doesnt act in the slightest when one butchers sigismund whole camp (including civilians), but why would he? according to sword-strike, this "mfer isnt even real".

i just hope warhorse made enough money to release a directors cut (hopefully one that also comes as a collectors edition, but with a hans-statue (no gay stuff)), that removes "all" this investor-demanded brainvirus slop.
there isnt much of this modern-audience content, but it existing drags the whole game down, thus removing any chance of being a masterpiece (in my opinion).

was adding this garbage worth the extra cash-injection to make this game big?
probably sadly yes (as most of what i´ve seen is pure cinema), but luckily this ideology is on its way out the door and with it hopefully all the concordian employees.

anyway, 95%(+) of the game is so enjoyable (at least for me) that mods arent required.
that said, i have the collectors edition, thus i´d simply put the statue up for sale and be in the green, while i had a great time (most of the time).

checking for non-woxus mods... computer says no <.<

The game reminded me of Mass Effect 3. A good game but disappointing. Game play was great but the writing was awful. It is almost like they didn't understand why the fans loved the first one. And in the end your choices did not matter.
