Ring a bell ?
It doesn't ring a bell, it's leaning on a TRAIN HORN at this point. The topic has been so saturated, the devs have been trying to accomodate everyone, but of course no one can ever just be happy.
Kingdom ♥♥♥
My character is written with no option to be gay as was Henry in KCD 1.
Do gay people also have the choice to be hetero IRL?
Because they're giving the option for those that want it? How is it bad trying to have more options for all kinds of players?
you can choose not to engage, so nothing changes for you.
someone who would like to engage can, so something changes for them.
thats a neutral change for you and a positive change for someone else. the only negative i can see is if you don't want certain people to see a positive change.
Which means the design is not organic, its shoehorned in for the message.
Henry’s heterosexuality is firmly established in the first game through his romantic relationship with Bianca, his behavior toward Theresa and Lady Stephanie, and the complete absence of any homosexual cues. These elements are not optional or open to interpretation—they’re core parts of his character as written by the developers.
The argument that Henry 'remains straight unless the player chooses otherwise' is flawed. Introducing an option for homosexuality in the sequel retroactively contradicts his established heterosexuality. Even if players can ignore the option, its existence fundamentally alters Henry’s characterization by implying his sexuality was always flexible, which is inconsistent with the original game.
Characters in narrative-driven games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance are not blank slates. Henry is a pre-written protagonist with clear traits and a defined backstory. Retconning his sexuality, even as an option, breaks the continuity of his character and undermines the integrity of the story.
While player choice is important in RPGs, it cannot come at the cost of disregarding established canon. Henry is heterosexual in the first game, and that should remain consistent in the sequel unless there’s a compelling narrative reason for the change.
It just blows my mind.
Literally 99.8% of the game is AUTHENTIC and HISTORICAL, but they have the OPTION of a same-sex scene, and they have 1 travelling black merchant and all hell breaks loose.
Suddently the game is crap and it's not historical. It really makes me laugh.
Not being honest
Promising different things
Lashing out at a YTer that defended them.
If we are proven wrong, I ll play it, if we are proven right, i won't
I fully understand where Vavra is coming from. Heck he was being nice cause I wouldn't have been if that was said to me.
