KCD:1 when WH was dev was AA right?
Indeed. It has shifted.
But this is normal, you will see ups and downs every day, until a few days before release where it will go in top5 and most likely top2 during last 2 days.
There are a few factors people use to define this.
The one I am using is overall budget (development+marketing) when a game is under 100m, then it is not an AAA game anymore (in my opinion) in this case, the game is most likley under 80m combined.
Games that were barely AAA (such as BG3) was 100m. A game such as Dragon Age: The Veilguard was 300m+, a game such as Cyberpunk 2077 was 250m. Starfield was 450m
I don´t think it will be GOTY on any of the large sites (there are over 250 GOTY awards)
But it will get praise. There are simply too many other more mainstream games.
if not, then its gta6 with the single mom protagonist
Expansions can´t win GOTY, as they are not new games, but well.. expansions.
GTA6 will win, due to it being a hyped console game, that just about any console player will buy most likely, its extremely popular with the large youth and young adult segment, but also the largest one, the middle aged.
The vast majority of times, a big Console centric Action Adventure wins GOTY awards with the 5 largest sites (ie. DICE, BAFTA, TGA, etc)
It is seldom that PC centric games wins, but BG3 was an exception, it is also the most winning game of all time (I doubt anyone will change that anytime soon)
KC:D2 might have a chance for some of the other awards and it might (note might) be lucky to get a nomination to GOTY some places.
This is atleast, if we use statistics.
Most likely. Again statistics tell us, that preorders will start to really go in a few days before release, games are digital today, most people only buy a few days before or even on the day of release, by the last day most reviews (full ones) have been released as well.
