KCD2 potential disaster - please don't fail us now.
EndymionTV has covered the literal storm surrounding the game the past week or so, and other YouTubers. And... it doesn't look good at all.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kU0iFdkXQMM

From Christian based to NOT Christian based, choice of gayness for Henry, entirely deviating from the first game - yes, we can choose, but this feels incredibly forced to appease woke/DEI cultists that CANNOT be appeased even if you made them all literal Gods, letting them reshape a million universes all they'd like. They'd never be happy anyway. Years of their screaming has proven they not only cannot be appeased, they WILL NOT be appeased. They don't want to be happy, they want to be angry and loud.

Warhorse. You catered to the social and moral equivalent of the Black Death. You catered to the kind of people that destroy everything they get involved with. Concord, Veilguard, Unknown 9, Saints Row Reboot, Suicide Squad, and more.

I dearly hope many of us gamers and "centrists" to simplify it are wrong, that the game will be as amazing as the first, and any activist appeasement is absolute minimal to try and reducde the noise. But you're also owned by EMBRACER GROUP. You might've been forced into this, but the CEO/Director tweets and such - Vavra's recent tweets and attacks on YouTubers DEFENDING HIM... this is not looking good at all for you.

And - just adding. The anti-woke and anti-DEI crowd is taking it too far, but you must understand why. People are SO tired of it!
We want KCD2 to be as amazing as the first game. We don't want to have our experience of the first game destroyed in this sequel. We're tired of radicalist and activist sermons shoving insanity in our faces. We want entertainment, not political screaming. We want a game. Please, let it be a GAME!
Please. Don't let us down. For if you do, we might abandon you, forever.

Jesus Christ be praised.

"Potential disaster" lmao
Remember the Hogwart's Legacy "PR disaster"? Remember how "controversial" it was?
Surprise surprise, it was only a select, terminally online group of people who cried about the game.
This is the exact same situation now. Terminally online usual suspects who think they are significant because they scream the loudest. Normal people don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about your fake outrage.

Difference being that the Hogwarts legacy thing was the "modern audience" boycotting, this time it is the actual customer base. Since it seems split right in the middle, if that is still the case, we will see what happens.

I did my deed, I think I did the right thing and invested already way to much time into this and I am also a bit tired of it.

Now it's waiting time.

Agreed. And a little transparency would have been great, instead of a week or two before release.

It's a waiting game now.

For me at least, the good news is, there's some other games that will give me plenty of enjoyment/to do in the interim. And if it doesn't work out after waiting, there'll be plenty of others to fill that time/spend money on.

Hey at least you guys are not so radical as to slam the door without looking under the hood first... I have a feeling this game will be great but it could end up biting me in the ass, time will tell.

The group of people who roll on the ground screaming like toddlers about KCD2 are about the same in size as the "modern audience". Fans of the game will buy it anyway, because in the end 99% of people don't really mind there being a gay romance in a role playing game. They're just not going to click it if they don't like it.

We will have the reviews on the 3rd and they should have covered the entire game by then. Some people say warhorse is hiding stuff from us. That theory doesn't hold water under the circumstances.

I think at this point more people are pissed at the duplicity, or just backpedaling then the content itself which I understand. I also understand the devs are tap dancing atm...

EndymionTV is wisely covering his bets seeing how the community is split on this one.

Warhorse are sort of unique when it comes to developers. It is quite possible that they did consider Henry having a gay option as spoiler territory.

They need to be listening to the devs at Larian who advised these developers that they need to focus on making a great game and that if they are going to wade into the territory of the culture war then they better be prepared for the storm that's coming with that. Which to me is basically saying stop wading into the culture war and just make a great game.

Now it could be, and it certainly looks like, Warhorse did make a great game here but still decided to dip into trigger points in the culture war. So we'll see if they focused on what was important.

....Oh why do I bother. Go on and hate on anyone that is worried if that is all you want to or can do.
