Why wasn't the gay option in the marketing?
Haven't seen this issue discussed much. It's a simple question, would appreciate a dev response.

It took a Saudi censorship board decision to be leaked to force you into revealing this new 'feature'

The fact it wasn't in the marketing suggests that:

1. You were terrified of the backlash and thought it would cause pre-order cancellations (this is a CDPR CP2077 on old gen consoles level deception)

and/or

2. You were not proud of/happy with the addition (so why do it?)

I have seen a few posters saying that they have more respect for Bioware, as at least they were up front and honest about their game, and whilst I would never play Veilguard, I am inclined to agree.

It's almost like (they) are trying to deceive gamers.
I'd say it's because it wasn't relevant enough. I for one, was more interested in the main plot of the game and how they polished the 1st game's mechanics. Guess their marketing department though the same

Why should it have to be? Really? Should it also have included every individual mug, chicken and cow?

It's 2025. If the world is still that terrifying, go demand safe spaces elsewhere.

They advertised a game. We're getting the game advertised. Nothing more.

really?...
Are you serious? I mean come on, you honestly believe that.
Not one shilling reviewer mentioned it, not even Sexybiscuit, who is a 'valid female'.
Did you fail at critical thinking? They clearly ensured that it was included on the embargo agreement.

They should continue to run the gauntlet for the lolz and take the angle that "they're surprised gamers would care about something like that". Even after Veilguard, Concord, Suicide Squad etc. Just play dumb about it with the low key gaslighting hhh.

"It's current year." If only you knew, what lies ahead.

Seeing as how you have this super secret knowledge, why not share your valuable insights!?

Seriously!
"What do you mean you don't want gay characters? It's current year."
CKD 2 might do well, but there won't be a CKD 3 when normies realize they don't care about the setting or like the gameplay.

It's the end of history according to your logic. Why do you even care?

What does this mean?

Pre-ordered because the setting and game-play are fantastic. The story ditto.

It's a game. I attach as much meaning to it as I would a satisfying burp.

Tf? When i see a game i announced, the first things i want to know is:
1. What will it be about.
2. What the gameplay looks like.

Y'all keep talking like the whole game is gonna be gay, when it's actually just a romance option. It's like saying the first one was a dating simulator because of the Theresa romance.

Just look at this forum now and you can see the importance of the topic. Your answer is complete nonsense.

I don't need a safe space, I just expect honesty from companies I deal with/buy from, not deception.
It's almost like they could foresee the reaction it was going to get.

Not from homophobes but from people that would rightfully call it out as ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, as has happened.
