Legacy of the Forge
I’d like to talk with you about the upcoming DLC Legacy of the Forge. 😊

I understand that what I’m writing here is just my thoughts and imagination. Most likely, the DLC will be very different, but I’m excited to dream and imagine what could be added to it.

Personal Forge and Shop

I’d love for the DLC to include the ability to upgrade or decorate the forge’s interior (perhaps similar to how it was implemented in the From The Ashes DLC). Additionally, I hope we’ll have our own shop near the forge where we can sell the goods we create.

How it might work:

1 . Crafting items. We create items in the forge (e.g., weapons, tools, horseshoes, and possibly armor in the future).

2 .Selling items. Afterward, we place them in the shop’s display cases, similar to how items are displayed in existing in-game shops. NPCs would visit the shop, buy goods, or even place custom orders for unique items with specific characteristics.

3. Cyclical quests. For example, an NPC might request a sword with high durability. This would trigger a quest where we craft the item and deliver it either immediately or after some time. This could work similarly to From The Ashes, where we resolved townspeople’s problems during town hall (tribune) meetings.

4. Hiring a merchant. It would be great if we could hire a merchant to manage the shop. They could handle passive sales, while we either stock the display cases ourselves or delegate that task to assistants.

NPC Assistants
Hiring NPC assistants to work in the forge could make management much easier.

Examples:

One NPC could handle stocking items on display. Another could act as a blacksmith (their skill level would determine the quality of the items they craft). A shop manager could oversee the store’s operations (e.g., décor and bookkeeping).

Ordering Materials and Transporting Goods It would be interesting to have the option to:

Hire carts (with or without guards) to deliver goods to distant shops.

Establish contracts with NPC shop owners for the supply of specific goods.

How it might work:

Choices. The player could choose to:

Craft and deliver items personally.

Entrust the task to their shop manager and blacksmith (quality and speed depend on their skills).

Predefine tasks for NPCs, with outcomes affected by their skills.

Transport. The player could hire a guarded cart (safer but more expensive) or an unguarded cart (cheaper but riskier).

Caravan ambushes. If a caravan is attacked, the player could investigate to find overturned carts or tracks leading to bandits. They could then raid the bandits’ camp to retrieve the goods. If the player doesn’t act, the quest would fail, and the player’s reputation with the client would decrease.

Shop Manager
It would be great to have a shop manager who could:

Accept orders.

Dispatch caravans.

Order raw materials.

Oversee the forge and shop (e.g., décor and inventory). If the player has a good reputation with miners, they could order raw materials at a discount, similar to how coal was cheaper with good relations in From The Ashes.

Décor and Upgrades
Adding the following features would be fantastic:

Décor. The ability to decorate the shop with swords, armor, paintings, and other elements to attract more visitors.

Wall colors. Customizing wall colors and adding unique design elements.

Building upgrades. A system for upgrading the forge and shop, similar to From The Ashes. Additionally, it would be great to hire quest-related NPCs (e.g., those we’ve helped in the past) to improve forge operations, provide passive income, or offer unique bonuses (e.g., buffs or rare items).

Events and Occurrences (Upd)
I’d be glad if there were many diverse events and occurrences in the DLC. For example:

Theft in the Shop. If we don’t hire guards for the shop (who need to be paid and have their own skill levels), there is a chance that something will be stolen in our absence. However, if we have guards with high skills, they’ll catch the thief. If the guards have low skills, there’s a chance the thief will manage to steal something.

Caravan Attacks. When our cart is transporting goods to a distant shop, it may witness bandits attacking other merchants. This could trigger an event where we have two options:

Help the merchants and earn money (this would require a caravan with guards).

Drive by (if the caravan is without guards, we can’t intervene).

I think many small events like this could be added to further diversify the gameplay and make it more engaging.

Everything described above is just my dreams and ideas inspired by various projects. I understand that probably even a quarter of this won’t make it into the DLC, but I wanted to share my thoughts. 😊

I’d love it if you could join the discussion and share your ideas about the upcoming DLC Legacy of the Forge. Thank you!

Lmao no shot, you'd be better off reposting this on reddit or something if you want someone to seriously look at it.

Does anybody even know if blacksmithing is in the base game? Because it looked to me it was with the trailers. But if now suddenly its a dlc?

Hiring a shop guard to fight off thieves for us would also be cool if we are going a
Nonviolent route, maybe we can decorate him in whatever armor and weapons we want would also be cool

I would love for our shop/house to be really customizable, paint and decorate however we want, and as much of whatever furnishings we want

It has to do something with Henry'sadoptivedad. (confirmed on social media)

I don't think it's a DLC to add blacksmithing but to add a story directly related to Martin somehow.

That's Theresa. You heard it here first.

I don’t mind a cool story around this DLC. I also want the DLC to be based on some story. But I also want a fairly deep development of the Blacksmithing and everything related to that, as well as the additional things I described. The From Ashes expansion was rather modest and had very few features; I hope Warhorse learned a lesson from this. I’m not saying that the From Ashes DLC was bad, but it looked very weak compared to the main game. From Ashes was created so that we could spend our millions :D. I just want the DLC to be made not just for the sake of checking it off the list...

I forgot to mention: It's also confirmed that Henry's involved in rebuilding some famous forge.

So, anything's possible.

It is in the base game yes. The DLC seems to add a player shop and likely a quest chain involved in restoring it.

I hope at least a small part of what is described will be in the DLC
