i got another perspective but is possibly a reach
what if Henry being gay was inclusion to mock the LGBTQ+ side?
like, you wanted woke Henry, this is what happens when Henry is woke in an era where sodomites are not accepted.
i think the problem with this is that because when one is playing as Henry and you are heterosexual like me the problem is that you can't role-play being Henry as a character if the game suddenly tries to suddenly make you feel that the player itself is a hidden sodomite or that he could think of the possibility of being one when you really never though about it in real life.
there should be 2 versions of the game because developers don't understand that LGBTQ+ people do not like hetero content and heterosexual people don't like LGBTQ+ content, just make 2 different versions, that would give option to the customer regarding his own sexuality preference and experience, do games that don't invade other people preferences and everyone would be happy using the exact same game!

It's not a reach and I don't think Vavra wants to mock homosexuals; however, I can't recall any game, ever, that authentically portrayed homosexuality or racial diversity as it was in the past - everyone ALWAYS has anachronistic world-views when it comes to other races, religions, and sexual orientation. The "good guys" are always so progressive.

Take for instance, RDR2,,, they rob and murder but they're racially colorblind and treat the women as equals, except well, for Micah -- but you get the point. If KCD2 can pull off having the "modern audience" trophy words and experiences treated authentically as they would in the past, well, that would be kinda ground-breaking.

the first game doesn't represent a real experience too if it gives you the choice of protecting gay people or be quiet about it, people that where sodomites back then did those things in the most secretive way possible because they know that if they where found out they where done yes or yes, finding someone to be doing bad things to the standards of those times like being gay was punished by death and if you where the person that discover it you would be praised by the people and the church while getting entertainment for everyone, like Henry defending Lucas if it was a real role-playing game would not let you choose to not rat him out, is clearly seen that when Henry doesn't do that and he gives a modernized response that you only would get in this day an era breaks that immersion that the game is supposed to give.
what happen in the 1st game to make Henry gay though ? Was this a force feature to include DEI ?

I'm saying that it was forced inclusion for the second game, but that he forced the inclusion in a manner that would not make happy the LGBTQ+ side Trying to 'own them'.
The problem was that he did the inclusion on the wrong character and that is what made it feel out of place because he used it on the protagonist instead of other character like in the first game and he could of do that exact thing with other important NPC.
The Musa guy is totally a DEI thing an is inexcusable no doubt about it but gay characters where already present and where not a problem because it added to history accuracy but the way that it was approached was not accurate in any way too.
Making Henry gay is the problem that is for sure, there where no foreshadowing for it in any part of the first game
