Pre-Order Download

Would be nice to download prior and have locked until the release date/time; will that be a thing?

No, the game does not come with DRM, that means there will be no preload.
I am also not certain at what time it will release considering that the world is round and has different timezones.
It either will be as you say for every timezone or it will release all over the world at the same time. Hard to say when exactly in that case.
In my timezone Telltale's episodes released at 19:00.

I bet the download is pretty hefty so a pre-load would be nice.

My guess is that it'll be launched around 8 or 9am Czech time. If I'd worked on a game for 6 years I'd want to be in the office with my workmates when it launches.

Like everyone else, I hope we get a day if pre load at least.

I'm pretty sure the game releases with Steam DRM, so preload will be a possibility. But it's up to the distributor to allow preloads and steam might unlock it based on popularity/pre-orders. I don't think a game needs Denuvo to be allowed for a preload.
