Can't start the Kuttenberg tournament , because Im a "Wanted criminal" which I'm not.

So I commited 18,000 Groschen in crimes. However I went to Trosly and did a bit of side quests in that region. However, when I came back to Kuttenberg my wanted status was gone and nobody was talking about my crimes and the guards weren't stopping me. However, Menhart says Im a suspect of a crime, so I did a small crime like punch a guy in the gace, surrender and payed the fine. However I still have the same problem. Is there a solution in game I'm misssing or is a bug?

Try paying that indulgence stuff where you put money in a box for a place to forgive you. That might work.

So I have had this same problem for about a week now. Same thing i committed a crime and even though I am not wanted he still says I have committed a crime and cannot join the tournament. I beat the main story today and went back to check still the same thing. Then for some reason I decided to have a practice fight against menhardt and then all of a sudden he let me join. Had to post this for you and everyone else that has been tearing their hair out over this stupid bug. So go to him and ask for a practice fight against 3 people win and then ask to sign up for the tournament and hopefully this will fix the problem for everyone.

Why is everyone wanted?
Find a guard, surrender, then avoid punishment with a nice chatty - it clears the wanted status.

I wasn't able to join oournament because being "wanted" for ages.
I made pilgrimage, payed indulgence, did small crime and payed fine...nothing worked.

So in the end, I just did some quests. In some quests, your crime status gets erased stealthily to avoid problems and Menhart eventually let me join.

@Wayne Wacker This fix worked for me thank you! As you said, I asked Menhard to fight 3 men and was able to participate in the tournament afterwards
