You know, a detailed map of these castles would be nice.
I ask, "where can I find this", or, "where do I look for him", and I get "Oh, have you check the knight's chambers", or, "look in the room beneath Lord Bergov's room", or, "check the maiden's tower".
Some of the markers cover the entire castle. And there are no labels over the rooms saying what they are.

Obviously that's the point.. You've never been there.. You gotta explore with henry, and get lost, like henry.. that's half of the immersion and realism.

I agree with that to a point. But I Henry has made a fairly detailed map of the Trosky region with several key points and many not so key points labeled for future reference and to show his horse when he wants to half sleep on the way. Obviously Henry is a skilled cartographer.
It just seems silly that a character with such a skill would not have made a note of each room in the castle and what they were used for as he made his way through each of them. ;)
Castles were often designed to be confusing, in case more angry visitors come around.

It doesn't help that in Demons of Trosky one of the fireplaces is in an inaccessible room and you have to use the developer console to get in there. But if you save and then just go around exploring, even if guards are hounding you, you can figure out the castle.
People complain about everything these days, don´t they?

The point of this gamedesign is immersion which means avoiding meta gaming like magically knowing which rooms there are and where they as much as possible.

You gotta walk around and find the way yourself.

But I'm not talking about "magically knowing". I'm talking about a guy who has mapped the whole Trosky region with labels but can't do the same with a relatively small castle. Rattay was mapped.

No because part of the game as an RPG is find out where those places are. It's not hard at all in tbat regard. As you're supposed to learn where each person lives, their daily routine and such. That's how KCD 1 and 2 is meant yo be played.

100% agree...But there is no learning. Learning would be mapping it out like Henry does with the entire Trosky region or in the first game, with Rattay and Skalitz.
As he passes the spots he maps them out.
Trosky is the first castle I've encounter between the two games that Henry didn't map out.
