Prison symbol glitched?

I have the prison symbol in troskowitz after I did stole many things and knocked people out, but I didn't get caught, after a day a random guard told me to show him my inventory but I managed to pretend to be a noble man, so he appologized and went away, I can walk freely around the city but the symbol doesn't go away

Go away for a few days and come back with no stolen items, That worked for me. Second time I let him search me.
