Has anyone done successfully the quest Bellatores by doing the harder way?

Ok, I tried both ways, I managed to do it stealthy way = I stealth killed the not sleeping Cumans and I finished the rest with Cimburg brothers, but the rushing and fighting option, I couldn't do it, I wasn't able to kill them fast with halberd or with sword (+masterstrike). Like yes nice battle soundtrack, but it's too hard.

So has anyone done successfully the quest Bellatores by doing the harder way?

i had no problem with killing them in a frontal fight, though at the point i did that quest i was already kittet out with some of the best armor and the best shortswort in the entire game.

Well I had, let'say, best armor parts you can get in the first "Trosky map" and best weapons from the first map, by best I mean the one, which you can get from quests, activities, from shops and from random bandits; not from treasures or Bruncvik armor.

Ah well, that's embarassing moment, when I am in almost all fighting skills 17-20 level and still getting my ass beaten.

Yes. I did the frontal attack in both that quest and the follow up one. I choose to use my sword because of the confined battlefield and the elder brother got knocked out early because he wears no helmet space marine style, but I was able to cut all of them down using masterstrikes and combos. It was a brutal fight, but I managed. I tried to move in a way where they would be too constrained to be able to outflank me.

In the follow up quest, we made another frontal attack despite the protests of the younger brother and we cleaned up the camp real quick. However, the young one was badly wounded, but he survived.

However, take into account that I was fairly high level (around 25 I believe) and had high quality harness: Nuremberg bascinet, Saxon brigandine (grey velvet variant), Noble legs, Nuremberg gauntlets and arms protection, long hauberk, etc. I also had either a lvl 3 duelist longsword or the reforged Sir Radzig sword from memory. If you go there in equipment from the Trosky area and at a lower level, it might be much harder.

Yes I went there with best gear from Trosky map (best if you don't count Bruncvik armor and armor from treasure maps) + "wolf bascinet" and level wise 14-20.

basically I want to know, if the cause of the too high difficulty is either going there little bit too soon or that I am still incapable donkey eventhough I am able to use master strikes and few times combos.

I didnt have much trouble. i shot the first cuman with a handgonne, then killed another in 2 hits.
by the time the knight friend gets knocked out i only had to deal with 3 cumans, one of which was wounded. so it wasnt a big deal, my stats were pretty middle of the road at the time.
