VRAM leak
Did anyone find an actual fix for the memory leak problem on this game? I'm kinda tired of having to restart the game every hour or so

Search KCD2 memory leak, first page of google, you'll be riddled with reddit's posts about it. There's even a mod for it on the Nexus.

Exactly, this only started happening after last patch.

I've sent a support ticket and the reply was that Warhorse is aware of the existance of performance degradation overtime in the game. You just have to wait for a patch.

Sounds like a driver issue. Update your drivers.

There hasn't been a patch.

Just came here to see if anyone was talking about it. I swear, for me, opening the map has like a 1 in 5 chance to permanently impact my frame rate for the session. My fps will noticeably drop into the 50s or lower. And even when areas with less demand bring me fps back up, it still feels choppy. But even in an area that brings my fps to its lowest, if I restart my game, coming back in brings my fps back up to 72 where I have it capped. I hope they fix it soon.

It's a memory leak from the sharpening and depth of field changing back and forth when you enter a conversation or cutscenes.

Likely a cryengine problem.

There is already a mod to stop or reduce that, by disabling those features ingame.

I think I've made the game slower somehow by tabbing out to other windows on other screen a bunch, eventually making the game run worse even if I close the other windows. If I start it again it goes back to normal. I haven't had it happen in a while though since I changed a couple settings.

For me it's almost everytime i open the menu and changing any setting. Whenever i get in and out of a cutscene. I tried the temporary method of fixing it provided by a Reddit user, and it's somewhat better now.

Oh ya, the other thing that seemed to do it was trying a bunch of different video settings. There's also a decent youtube video breaking down the impact and differences of the various display settings which might get you some extra fps and or give your system a bit more leeway before lagtown. I don't remember what its called but if you search youtube for display settings comparison it or others like it will likely show up.

I installed the FPS Fix (Memory Leak) mod from Nexus and just had my first lengthy session without an fps drop. And this is with me keeping DOF and sharpening enabled by removing the lines of code from within the mod's .cfg file that otherwise would have disabled them. If you install this mod, just be sure to read the pinned comments. There's instructions on how to tune it to your hardware specs, primarily RAM and VRAM.

I think I read some where, That this game force automatic sharpening and depth of field effects during conversations and cutscenes. I think there a nod on nexus to fix it if you having trouble with it

When I go to read a book that's what triggers it. Can play for hours just fine but having to adjust the depth to see something in your hands makes my frames chug
Think I've been getting this. Often accompanied with this SHARP frame drop spike. (micro-pause)
