Any point in finishing story if you just want to explore both maps?
Firstly, I love the game even with its faults but i just cant take the story/ dialogue or being trapped in on rails story stuff any more.

I just want to explore the world (hopefully both maps if possible). If I reach the end of the story do I get to explore both maps?

I am very close to the end of the game but i have been locked into story mode stuff as the game reaches its conclusion for I dont know how many hours now _ im sick of it.

I am an immersive sim player, I don't care for on rails story and ive absolutely had my fill of the characters and dialogue. Frankly, I don't like them and I am bored of their chat/ humour.

So, do i clench my teeth and push on to the end, pressing "B" as much as possible (already doing that) so I can get access to both maps or should I just load previous saves in Kuttenberg and the first map?

Once again, I love the unique medieval immersive sim this game offers but have never cared for the story/ characters or dialogue in both game. If you do love those things, then great.

Anyone? :steamsad:
The Italian Job onwards is the start of the finale and it goes non-stop for hours. It'll give you a few warnings.

After that though you are indeed free and clear to do whatever you want on both maps.

Ok thanks. Is there any point to complete the story? Like can you go inside more houses or get new combos etc? Or no difference to a save before "the italien job".

You get the best sword in the game upon ending the story.
If you are struggling with unexplored hostile camps, this way you can make it easier.

Note that certain side quests will get disabled if you progress the main story too much where NPCs involved in those quests get killed or relocated.

How do you keep the sword anyway? Henry just said keep it last play through, no other option.
You can safely put off the main questline as soon as you rescue Dry Devil, and won't be denied access from obtaining endgame gear assuming you can afford it. You can also return to Trosky if you wish at that point, but only do that for quests; not in the hopes of finding better equipment (you won't find it).

Yes by all means beat the game and you can still do all the side stuff... just don't start side missions then beat the game... as you can fail missions if you leave them undone and progress in the story... my suggestion is to Finnish the side stuff you have going already then the story and then go and do all the other side stuff in the open world... the game does not end after the story is over.
Also the best sword in the game is the sword of sir valentine.. you can get it right after you get to kuttenburge by talking to the guy at the camp north of the monastery and the main city... you have to stack bones and find the crypt that has the sword design on it.

if you mean Sir Radzig's sword towards the end option where if you want to settle or be an adventure or warrior. Picking adventure/warrior will make you take the sword from Sir Radzig and have it as your own.
ok great thanks for answers. Definitely dont need the most powerful sword (already running loads of combat mods to make it harder).
Will load up a save before italien job and just enjoy the envirnoment.
Thanks again

If you played one then you kind of want that closure. You can still go do anything you want afterwards. Just plow through it as the end part is actually pretty fun.

They must have a lot of endings for this...I've finished the game once and in that play through I gave the sword to Sir Radzig and then he gave it back to me in a touching father/estranged bastard son moment. The name of the sword then changed to "Henery's Sword".
